Thomasville has never been overrated. I can also promise we are never going to sneak up on anyone. When you see the T on a red helmet you better tighten your chin strap. We have a coach now so get use to the Dogs wining again.I think Tville may be a little overrated. They've had a nice finish, but I'm not sure they're as good as they think they are. I'm going with NC in this one.
I believe that, if Thomasville had 20-40 more players, like most of the schools in our conference, they’d be serious title contenders. As it is, we’re decent, but a player or two away from losing many games. We just don’t have the depth to make a playoff run. What will keep us in most games is the effort. In two years, I haven’t seen Doug Robertson’s kids quit.I see SHEWK5 is still salty because that little school called Thomasville beat his undefeated at the time Oak Grove team...he's liking every post against the Dogs...let it go man it's over and done with,if you think Thomasville is overrated then that don't look good on OG loosing to such a team as Thomasville....the smallest school in the conference by a mile
OCDavis many posters (from CCC teams) could learn so much from you. Your posts are never reactionary but are well thought out and classy.. We all don't need to have a take on every subject. Quantity by no means equals quality.. You Sir embody the later.I believe that, if Thomasville had 20-40 more players, like most of the schools in our conference, they’d be serious title contenders. We’ve also improved enough that I think we could beat any team we have played, with the possible exception of Salisbury. I’ll say it again. We have five good teams. Almost interchangeable. But no great ones.
I’ll be pulling for all our teams. Haven’t always been able to say that.

Thank you sir. You give me too much credit. Been known to take a poke or two at a couple of schools. Usually when I think they show poor sportsmanship. But I also believe we can disagree without being disagreeable. And that we should try to be as objective as possible.OCDavis many posters (from CCC teams) could learn so much from you. Come up with a new phrase! We’re so polarized in our daily lives. It’s easy to get on here and take anonymous potshots at other people. I hope my 66 years have given me a little more grace and wisdom than that.
It also helps to have folks like ITJ, Cheerduck and Lincolnton to set the example. Met some great people on this board and want to be just like them when I grow up.
You and Lincolnton taking in any games this week?Watch it, ocdavis31! I resemble that statement. You've always spoken when you had something to say and not just to be heard. I always enjoy hearing about those Thomasville Bulldogs and what they have. I'm glad that you fellows were able to get Coach Robertson in your fold and hope that you keep him for a long time. Newton-Conover has a decent team, but they have been somewhat hard to read at times. They have a big line and some fast backs, so I think they will try to keep the ball on the ground and it should be a good high school football game. Good luck!

Best of luck! I’ll be watching for that score. Seems I saw that both 2A games are at Wake this year. Have a church event that night, but may bring the Kicker and try to catch a day game if there is one. Hope to see you guys there.I have plans to travel to Asheville and take my trusted sidekick, Rowdy, to root for our Red Tornadoes. I'm hoping the weather cooperates.

57-0 Reidsville win tonight. Ouch!Winner of the Thomasville-Newton Conover game gets a trip to Reidsville next week. If it's Thomasville, it'll be a homecoming for coach Rob. He was player, longtime assistant and began his head coaching career at Reidsville. Coached the championship 16-0 team in 2009 and also was head man in 2010 (9-3) and 2011 (11-4). When he left for Roxboro after three seasons, coach Teague returned to the RHS sidelines.

I told Coach Robertson on the day I met him that whether he won a game, I'd consider him a success if he could keep our kids in school, academically successful, and their names off the police blotter and out of the newspaper unless it was for academic, civic or athletic recognition. In that order. His response to me about his priorities sold me from day one. The wins have been the icing on the cake. This letter to Coach Rob is from last year, it’s from SHEWK5 (sorry for the bad quality).

Thanks Shewk5 for taking the time to let him and his coaches know that people in the community see what an important impact they're making every day.
Well, thank you sir. I’d be honored. Short Sugars certainly has a great reputation. Thanks for the kind words about Coach Rob, OC.
If you are ever in Reidsville around lunchtime, just stop by Short Sugars and have lunch with Coach Robs father, Ed, myself and the gang. Ed and Doug are cousins and we all live a couple of miles from each other.
Oh, we all sit at the counter.
You would be most welcome.
Could you please update us with the score? Here at the game...fan attendance is light for both teams
