Tarboro vs Corvian for the Ship

I feel the same way about your jabs at Corvian. Just cause you write it, doesn't make it true. Now we are seeing eye to eye.
Here's a fact for you... ER has an excellent football team. They are tough and play real good ball. You won't hear me say anything different. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way (turnovers)... it's part of the game. It happens. Corvian is also a very good football team. It would be different if ER lost to some scrubs. They didn't. But you, for some reason just won't acknowledge that Corvian belongs where they are.

Thanks but...
Still waiting on that quote,,,

I believe the majority on this board don’t believe a school in Charlotte, Raleigh, or even Greensboro has no business playing schools from Hayesville, Ramseur, Mount Airy, Burnsville, Ronda, Bryson City, Walnut Cove, Newland, Tarboro, etc.
Idk. I think most just want every team to have to play by the same rules. A Charlotte team may have more students within a 1 mile radius than a small town school has combined. But if that's that school's district and their athletes come from there, then that's fair. But open enrollment vs restricted enrollment schools just shouldn't compete against each other. I say the same for them all. In my neck of the woods, we have NE Carolina Prep and Rocky Mount Prep. Both open enrollment, yet they have abysmal athletic programs. The worst of the worst. Why they never play each other, idk. But there are enough prep and charter schools around here for their own conferences and divisions. My argument isn't just about those schools being good, be some of them aren't. It isn't about location. You are where you are. Just let the same rules apply for everybody.

What’s your point? You think that’s news to those of us who support parochials or charters? They’re not good they get scheduled for homecoming. They win, they’re advantaged or worse, that speculation thing. Guess it must be ok because of the majority….

Mallard Creek had 104 Football players on their team this year and can use 11 going each way. That leaves 82 which is a good portion that could be starters in 1A. So how many did Corvain get that is playing this year instead of standing on Mallard Creek's sidelines? It is common sense they will play down to 1A to get to play deep in the playoffs and get their talent recognized. But it is fair to the 1A and takes only 3 years to get to the State Championship ? Also, they did nothing in year 1 of those 3 years ! !

I doubt it. On a forum... probably, but who cares. In life, i doubt it.
Are you one of them flame throwers that gets your mouth full of lighter fluid, strikes a cigarette lighter , and then blows the lighter fluid toward the lighted flame of the cigarette lighter ? If so, I would strongly suggest against attempting this act indoors, because you may set the Christmas tree on far , or worse case scenario, you torch the entire lodging facility.
P.S. Perhaps you need a big 'ole drank of Funk 49, Flame Slanger 44.

I think Tarboro will likely win but the fact that they have been unchallenged all year especially in the playoffs could hurt them if the community school keeps it close for a half or 3 quarters
Ehh, they were challenged twice. Won one and lost one. The one they lost was simply because the other team had more stallions than they did.

We don't have a single kid on the roster that played at Mallard Creek. In fact, 14 players are seniors. The first year we were playing mostly sophmores and freshman on both sides of the ball. Also we weren't allowed to go to the playoffs because we were in a conference yet. Last year we were playing well and had one loss until we got hit by the injury bug. We were without both of our Starting DEs, both RBs... we had to move a WR to play RB. Also we had other key members out. All together 7 players missed a few games. Most played both ways.... we dropped 3 straight games. They came back before the Draughn game, which we won. Then lost a shootout to North Rowan. We didn't go as far.as this year, but was definitely making progress.

I was using Mallard Creek mainly as an for instance. Charlotte & Mecklenburg County has over a million residents. This is a list of all the high schools that they can build off of and I don't need to hear the 25-mile rule or the lottery that these charter schools can work around a lot easier than a public school ! This is so old that Corvian Community has not made it on there yet that I see.

I get where you are coming from, but our roster hasn't had many additions. Our CORE kids are the ones that played as freshman and sophmores. They took their lumps and now aren't underclassmen anymore.

There’s always that thought in my mind when we go through without much of a challenge, that if it’s close we may panic. I think this team seems to be really dialed in, so hopefully that will not be a problem

And Mt. Airy had a player this year who played the last 3 years for Forbush, despite the fact he lives in the Starmount district. Plays for a Surry county school lives in Yadkin county. Players moving between mt airy, east Surry, north Surry, elkin, Virginia, etc etc. been happening for decades in that area,,,tainted championships????

From the highlights from Tarboro this year they look improved from last couple of years. They look bigger on the offensive line and that helps running the ball. Hopefully it will be a good game. I'm sure the Corvian coaches will try to take away what Tarboro does best. Both teams have experience coaching staffs.

Let me guess they did not have a high school basketball game until 2019 unless they were playing in the NCISAA and not the NCHSAA.

This is about Corvian and Tarboro. Hopefully the transfer helps in basketball

The last couple of years in the championship Tarboro has had several key turnovers. They better get that fixed or Corvian will be stripping the ball on every drive.

This team, is much closer to our 20 and 19 team, certainly the best one we’ve had in a few years. Hopefully we will be up for the challenge on Saturday

High schools like Mallard Creek got a rep for buildin' mad talent, and if your program ain't gettin' in on that, you might be sleepin' on some real chances to grow.
