Parents looking a dragon fly….there is a person called an athletic director that should be checking this. Our taxpayers pay for these folks to do this

Think you on track to what I was getting at.
Have you ever seen an AD’s salary for what they do? Most have to teach classes also. I am not defending what happened, just saying there’s usually not a big line for people wanting to do this job. Those responsibilities are the reason why some counties do not allow AD’s to coach also. I think the county you are in does not.
For the last few years, Mount Airy has had 2 or Co-Athletic Directors and they also have other positions.
One is EC Teacher, the other is a Student Support Center Coordinator & may hold another position. Both of these ADs are ladies. That was as of 2023-2024, and not sure what 2025-2026 will bring.

Parents want to make every other decision in the school system these days so maybe they should take some responsibility as well.
You realize they have to create an account complete, and upload the documents right? So they have access to all the information that ADs do as well. I'm sure many of these parents argue over the fact they even have to do this paperwork.

All Head coaches and the AD have a checklist on Dragonfly this has to be looked at and boxes checked off for every athlete. It is verified and NCHSAA has it. The eligibility checklist has students grades, picture copy of physical, grade, address, and school and sports they play in to name a few. At my school the Head Coach has to do this checklist and the AD verifies it. Also parents/guardian has to fill out there part on Dragonfly.

At the end of the accountability is needed. Unfortunately at the end of the day the teams will be held accountable. Seems like the AD is already on leave pending completion of the investigation. Even if wins or championships are vacated( which would be surprising) it doesn’t change the fact that they were champions. Rules are in place for safety. Also as parents we need to confirm our kids have everything needed. I confirm that all my child’s paperwork is turned in and correct as well as make copies. Grades are kept up with weekly as well. Hopefully this will not affect wins or championships.
Not sure why it would surprise you if wins and a championship are vacated. Many teams have forfeited for less. If players play without proper paperwork they are ineligible. They might as well not live in your district. Lol
Don’t be surprised if vacating wins and a championship is all that happens. There may be a financial penalty. Fines usually go with these types of things but also repayment of any playoff money earned from gates where ineligible players participated.
Some will recall an incident involving E Alamance Football about 10 years ago that cost the Eagles quite a bit.
Emergency school board meeting today in Rockingham County. Not sure if it has anything to do with this situation.
I'm curious if they get penalties going forward also. Like a playoff ban for this coming season. Because if something like that was to happen I would wonder if kids abandoned ship

Yes you are correct AD in my county cannot coach. My AD also does not teach any classes and is a 12 month employee and makes probably 70k….not to bad money in the education world. Grimsley AD I know doesn’t teach either.
Bottom line is Reidsville is only good in two sports just make sure you got your ducks in a row with those two sports. If you get in trouble with the other sports no one will care

So your advocating for an AD to just worry 2 sports and let eligibility just be whatever for the other sports? No physical, sure go play baseball. You failed 3 classes in the fall? Well go run track but make sure you've got it figured out by football season.

I’ll end with this….I would definitely make sure everything is good to go with football and basketball because it draws the most attention and has the most chance to get investigated…..if I was gonna f up it would def be in any other sport besides football and basketball. If you don’t understand that your an idiot have a nice day

Been seeing some videos from the spring practices online. Braxton Johnson is the QB with Dionte Neal moved back to wide receiver. Also a previous report that Damarien Whitted would be transferring to Page has been proven false as he's been practicing with the team as well. We're looking pretty good from I've seen so far.
Couldn't really tell from the videos because it was mostly passing highlights. I imagine that unless we get a transfer it'll be a mix of guys like Michael Smith, Kesean Henry, Josiah Samolu and Zayliyn Hampton.
True leadership means every athlete’s success matters, not just the spotlight sports.
Passing game should be really good. You get someone that can keep the defense honest on the ground then we’d be really onto something.
The young kid at QB grown any??...good arm but not very tall...........
Bingo and a great athletic director makes sure his t's are crossed and his i's are dotted for every single piece of paperwork for every single sport.
Women's golf is just as important to someone as football and a great leader recognizes that.

UPDATE: Dionte has a conflict with AAU basketball and will be replaced on the relay team at state final.

Track & field is not a priority for Dionte ... he was working on his speed this spring and happened to finish on the regional runner-up relay team. Basketball is his No. 1 love.
may be so but ain't exactly fair to the other guys on the relay.............
I think everybody realized his priority situation, including teammates and coaches
