Tarboro vs Corvian for the Ship

There are more than 5000 views of this thread so far and more to come. I GUARANTEE you that their school officials, coaches and parents don’t find that post facetious in the least. Just don’t make statements like the poster did, it’s that simple.
So PED testing is no longer a part of sports? Kickers have made a 55 yard field goal and be tested on a Monday morning. Anything that can cause speculation. They claim no recruits and these kids had never played football in their lives as of 3 years ago. They may have the best coaches in NC, they may have the best athletes in NC but the quick progression warrants questions based on how the normal world of sports works. It doesn’t mean that they did take shortcuts, it just raises questions

Back to the game, I’ve seen most of the game from last Friday, and still feel heritage was a little better. Good year, Cougars!
Agreed, but like you texted me earlier. This Cardinals team just seems to know how to win. You can’t measure that, and that makes them dangerous.

How do you know that “these kids have never played football in their lives as of 3 years ago” ? because someone made that statement on these boards so it must be true? Now there’s “speculation” that PEDs might be involved? this is exactly how defamation suits get started, again just stop.

Everyone around here including the players blame the MA offensive coaching but I don’t think they should take away Corvians athleticism or coaching.

If you guys don’t hold Corvian to 14 points or less it’s really going to sting MA

How about you just ignore my post if you don’t like it. PED testing is a part of sports. If you don’t understand PED usage and sports at all levels maybe you need to read up on it and learn how hard it is to test for.

I'd check for voodoo magic....other teams fumbling are why they have won. If ER doesn't fumble in first half I think ER might be playing in this game. Same for MTN Heritage and there fumbles
So you’re saying capitalizing on other teams mistakes isn’t a sign of a good team?

Was it the coach’s that fumbled the ball when they were going in to score to tie the game up?

People might think I’m joking but Corvian probably needs to be tested for PEDS. That school has already been through shady business, and a program that is supposedly only 3 years old with no recruits then all of a sudden becomes a power house. That package that was held up in customs back in August must have finally cleared and made its way to the field house in October.
It's so sad that we have gotten to the point where ADULTS are acusing these kids of taking PEDS to play high school football. Have you ever thought that the coaches at Corvian have gotten these kids to buy into the vision. Do you know that these Corvian kids pushed 45 pound weights 100 yards in 3 minutes before every practice since last spring? How about the fact that they have been pushed to the point of physical exhaustion during conditioning forcing them to dig deep and fight through adversity. We literally had players leaning on each, to hold their brother up because they were allowed to take a knee, sit down or put their hands on their knees. Has it ever occurred to you that EVERY coach on this staff played D1 football and knows what it takes to make it? Or the fact that the head coach has multiple state Championships in Ohio... Instead, we wanna focus on Corvian being a Charter School and that they must have cheated somehow became they got good to fast.

Think he was referring to the scandal involving the alleged embezzlement by the founder/director of the school and carried it a little further. As far as views, how many do you think are actual parents/supporters of said charter? The only poster who has been active on this forum is probably not even associated with the school at all. While I think this is a great place for old, no longer active, former athletes and current fans to talk sports, I don’t think it’s quite as influential as you obviously do. Good luck with your continued banter over this but I’m tapping out because this feels like a futile excursion to me.
That was a separate incident that she alone was responsible for. She isn't affiliated with the school any longer and never had anything to do with the football team or their success.

MH is a great team and played an incredible game. Hats off to the players, their coaches and community! It was an even game that went back and forth. Someone has to win and it happened to be Corvian that night. If we play 10 times, then it could possible be 5-5.

Just because he was the only person active doesn't mean that the players, parents, coaches and administrators haven't been actively watching the posts. You need to get over your hatred over these young men's success. Your team is out of the playoffs this year...

A regular team/school. It's pretty hard to build a program from scratch when you're restricted to one area of athletes. But when you basically didn't have restrictions as far as where your athletes come from, the process is sped up fairly quickly. You don't find it odd that the east AND west had a 3rd year team one step from the state finals, and that both of those teams just so happened to be charter/prep? Hell, Wilson Prep has already won MULTIPLE state championships in basketball.
You do realize that there are TONS of athletes within a 5 mile radius from Corvian right? Corvian is right next to Mallard Creek. If they had the same area to pull kids from, then they would probably be very good as well. Especially since Mallard Creek is a contender in 4A almost every year. I get the argument if this were a county school that needed to pull from a 25 mile radius. Corvian really doesn't need to.

I believe the majority on this board don’t believe a school in Charlotte, Raleigh, or even Greensboro has no any business playing schools from Hayesville, Ramseur, Mount Airy, Burnsville, Ronda, Bryson City, Walnut Cove, Newland, etc.
You may be right. BUT, as of now they are. Sad thing about the whole thing is that the schools that some of these poster represent have REALLY good teams. Sometimes you just don't win EVERY game.

Ah, the famous get over it, suck it up, and stfu arguement. Words that's will always get others to see your point and respect anything you have to say.
But he has been throwing shade on Corvian since ER lost. I just don't understand what his beef is with Corvian or the kids on the team. They do deserve to be where they are... They have worked hard and haven't taken any shortcuts.

It’s funny I remembered I started a thread about Corvian middle way thru the year and everybody said they weren’t any good and they don’t play anybody - but now that they’re in the state championship game all of a sudden they have an unfair advantage?

Plenty of high school kids start peds as early as 16. Some wait to college and then need that extra edge. And I’m going to leave it at that, done with the PED conversation because no one understands it

OK first of all watch your mouth or anagrams...
No one talks to me in such a way, either digitally and most definitely not in person. And you are either a teenager or a troll if what I said in any way could be construed as hatred. I hesitate to call you sir because of such.
Grow up and learn how to have a conversation

They may, but throwing around accusations that Corvian kids do just because they got good too fast is unfair to them.

I'm neither a kid or troll... grown man over here big boy! You are the one that has been popping ya gums. Don't like it when someone claps back?

Seems like they should be better than Mallard Creek, then, if they are able to get the same athletes, plus athletes that MC can't get because of residency restrictions. Maybe Corvian doesn't need to. But being able to is what makes it unfair. And I'm sure all of the athletes aren't from around the corner.

No he has not. Just because you say it, or write it, does not make it true. Find where I have disparaged
Corvian team at all? I'll wait....

TBH, most of the kids in Charlotte are enamored by the bright lights of 4A football. We rarely get any of the top kids in the area because of it.

I think Tarboro will likely win but the fact that they have been unchallenged all year especially in the playoffs could hurt them if the community school keeps it close for a half or 3 quarters
