I'd say it's close between them and 09 and 18, if Corvian keeps it close with Tarboro I'd least give them a tie for 2nd best team all time.I disagree with it being one of their top 2 teams. I would say 3 or 4.
I can agree with this & honestly, I can say the same for that Havelock team. That fumble & onside kick changed the game.If you put Corvian up against Reidsville 2017 or 2018 teams it's not even close and Heritage lost by 1 score in both of those games at Reidsville. 2009 was slightly better too imo.
Heritage had a bigger line in 2017 and 2018 and made less mistakes. Quinn is faster and a good player no doubt but Robinson was tough. He was a beast. This years team had more penalties and turnovers than any of those other teams mentioned too.I'd say it's close between them and 09 and 18 if Corvian keeps it close with Tarboro I'd least give them 2nd best team all time.
2008, 2009, 2017, 2018 all had bigger lines but this team played well upfront for their size and this was probably the most athletic team we ever had, 2017 was no doubt the best team but one could argue this team is in the conversation for second best it's all subjective though, we really missed some opportunities tonight and we'll see how good Corvian is next week.Heritage had a bigger line in 2017 and 2018 and made less mistakes. I really thought we’d get the rematch from 09 this year2008, 2009, 2017, 2018 all had bigger lines but this team played well upfront for their size and this was probably the most athletic team we ever had, 2017 was no doubt the best team but one could argue this team is in the conversation for second best it's all subjective though, we really missed some opportunities tonight and we'll see how good Corvian is next week.
Man, i’m sure the Cardinals wished it worked that way!Definitely not a fair fight. You can stack the deck. Take the cards you want and let everyone play with the rest. Who's gonna win. Hopefully, Tarboro wins it for the traditionals...Wish I could ask Tucker how does she think this is fair play
Yes they did! Man!!!These players for Corvian didn't know how to put shoulder pads on 3 years ago. They have come a long ways😉
You have heard it before because it's true....y'all would be very successful in the West. Just don't think y'all would put running clocks on everyone like y'all do in east. Hope y'all kick Cardinal butt next weekendWow we totally have not heard that before. It's funny though because this is only the second time in the last 8 years that Tarboro has played a non Surry County School so what does that say about the West? I'm not even trying to be combative either
I don’t get into a lot of back and forth, it’s all pretty funny in here, but what can’t a team compete for a chip in 3 years?? These are all kids who started and took big lumps as sophomores. Their hard work and being healthy is finally paying off.I would say Tarboro is playing better than anyone right now. Mountain purple is pulling for flatlander purple. No way a school with a legit lottery system can compete for a football state championship in just 3 years. The powers to be have to blind not to see this. This was one of the green teams top two teams ever and they used to be 2A and got further.
Agreed, and for that, they certainly have our attentionCorvian going on the road last 3 weeks in cold weather and winning is impressive have to give them credit
A regular team/school. It's pretty hard to build a program from scratch when you're restricted to one area of athletes. But when you basically didn't have restrictions as far as where your athletes come from, the process is sped up fairly quickly. You don't find it odd that the east AND west had a 3rd year team one step from the state finals, and that both of those teams just so happened to be charter/prep? Hell, Wilson Prep has already won MULTIPLE state championships in basketball.I don’t get into a lot of back and forth, it’s all pretty funny in here, but what can’t a team compete for a chip in 3 years??
I don’t really find it odd… I’m not sure what happens out east, besides what I learn on here LOL, but there isn’t the influx of elite athletes that are dying to come play 1A when there are soooo many options at all levels in CLT. Corvian has been fortunate to have a freshman class that did t play football and stick it out though a difficult sophomore and junior (riddled with injuries) year and really worked to get here. Outside of that core senior group we have VERY little high school experience… for us, can’t speak for anybody else, it’s a challenge. WE have a fairly long waiting list of you aren’t selected in the lottery and we rarely get a bunch of athletes in. Corvian’s success has been with the same (literally) day one group. They have pretty decent batch of coaches too!A regular team/school. It's pretty hard to build a program from scratch when you're restricted to one area of athletes.
