Hopefully they look within and hire the DC. X's and O's as smart as anyone, young and energetic and could give the program a much needed new identity.Any list of possible candiates for the Starmount job.
already been let go from forbush but the new principal at starmount is a stokes county guyTruth will come out soon! Hire Coach Johnson he is good fit.
Grinton is a good guy. I believe that was his “Home” and I hate hear it but I’m sure he will land somewhere and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavorsAdmin decided to take the program in a different direction
I would assume playoff success was the issue possibly bc they have had some solid talent n good games up thereI guess losing to Robbinsville's 3rd string rb in the playoffs got him canned.
Had nothing to do with on the field and their wins/losses!I guess losing to Robbinsville's 3rd string rb in the playoffs got him canned.
So you’re saying there more to the story?Had nothing to do with on the field and their wins/losses!

Why? Grinton is a good guy. I met him a few times at North Iredell n He always treated me with hospitalityHad nothing to do with on field performance. I’m surprised it did not happen sooner, but I guess they needed to do their due diligence. Any other coaches resigning or leaving at Starmount?

Uh oh…… That doesn’t sound good^^^
This is what I have been hearing as well - nothing to do with on-field performance at all. I will say that if what I have been told by several people in the Starmount community is true, the message boards is not a place to post it.
Not at all. I am sure it will come out sooner or later.Uh oh…… That doesn’t sound good
I met Grinton a few times as a Football official as I did 2 scrimmages at North Iredell back when I actually did football officiating and He always treated me with respect. Not at all. I am sure it will come out sooner or later.
I will say, though - I have known Coach Grinton for years and years and he has always been a class act and a tremendous person (to me) all-around - and I think a lot of people would say the exact same things. That's how I still view him to this day, even given the "reports" that I have heard. He always treated me with respect and was always very uplifting - so that's how I will continue to view him. People make mistakes and shouldn't be judged or characterized by them.

I think everyone knows Coach Grinton is a Class act and he is one most humble n nicest people you can meet but I think he had similar issues at North Iredell because I know he was at NI is pretty much primary run the ball not pass much at all n Ofc talent level is probably a reason but I know many weren’t happy with play calling when he was at NI.I think he's done a great job. I don't think the last 4 or 5 years have been very good. But he really hasn't had very much talent. Regardless of what people say. They've got some size. But not that much speed. Making themselves a one-man show the last 2 years I think was a terrible decision. Yes they were good for a quarter quarter and a half against good teams but once they shut that one player down it was over. I don't think that this is a desirable job. I think if a guy went in there like a BW. And told everybody to get lost that he didn't give a crap what they were going to put their kid or where they wanted to play their kid or if they wanted to transfer or whatever. And they would give him this person three or four years. Then I think he could possibly have a good team. But right now it's become like a Wilkes county School. Where your dad knows best. But really he don't know squat. They need to get rid of that first. Sandy is a first class individual. Regardless of what you think about is choices in his personal life. He cared about the kids he worked his ass off to try to help them and he taught them a lot. I don't think you'll find many kids that graduated or that played for him that won't say the same thing. I have a few that I know that think the world of him.
