South Fork week 11

Sorry for the delay South Forkers didn't mean to keep anyone waiting. This is an interesting week for 3 teams that'll be fighting just to get in the dance, 2 are out, 1 for better positioning and 2 for better positioning and for title prep. North and Bandys can both lose this Friday and still contend for the conf crown. Wouldn't be wise to lose as far as playoff seedings but you get the idea. Nov 2 for the big one can't wait. So lets bring it. Good posts and output guys on week 10.Lets take this to 2 pages especially since some rival games are taking place.

West Lincoln and East Lincoln- A must win for both teams and for pride. One for seeding and another just to stay in. Now keep in mind theres better analysis on here as far as who gets in and who's done. So post em'. West has done well with the running attack and most likely East D may not have what it takes to stop it but you never know. Could go either way, could be a whoever has the ball last kinda game like South Caldwell and Hickory last week, or could just be a run and burn clock by West and they take it by 2 scores. I'll go with West by 2 scores. If East has a passing attack, could make it a game.

North Lincoln and Lincolnton- rivals and huge game for both teams no matter what the record or whats at stake. A lot of emotion no doubt for both teams as North will push to make the overall series to win number 3. North cannot come into this game overconfident. Its still Lincolnton and they still got enough left in the tank to bust em' in the mouth.dispite the numbers and W/L season record. I'll go with North for 3 scores.

Newton and Maiden- A classic that never gets old. Both even matched teams looking to get in playoffs and pretty much just beat each other silly. I'd say Maiden in this one with their running attack its gonna be hard for Newton to stop. But Newton still has athletes and about anything goes in a usual tight rival game.


Wont be a problem for Bandys this wkend but a MUST win for North. Otherwise they might be going down 321 to I85 North real soon to see big red or worse the foot of the mountains to see BIG guys in red and black coming down a long set of steps with an ACDC song playing from the pressbox....hint hint lol

I will go with West over East by two scores. East run defense isn't good and west will just wear them down. Big concern is if West can stop dollar and company outside the hashes as well as how the East qb is playing, he is hit or miss.
Newton and Maiden will be interesting as both are down and Maiden is fighting for a playoff spot. This is a tough one to pick because I can see it going either way but I think Newton gets this one behind that big offensive line.
As for my wolves against the knights if our defense keeps playing the way they have been and our offense can find a way to score some points I think we can win. Biggest factor will be our offensive game plan seeing that we seem to change it up week to week according to who were playing. It will be senior night so I am sure the kids will be amped up and ready to go. We have already seen the red bone this season, NG's triple option with their two stud backs, as well as Bandys so I think we will be well prepared. However, I give the coaching edge to North and that will be the difference.

Reason I asked is someone pointed out and I saw it myself that Hibriten will be on one end and SPoint on the other so putting NL toward SP side and possibly playing the should they advance.​

Was wondering how much of North I’d be watching. Watauga, Freedom, and Hib will hold their own in first round be like a normal game for them, AC prob one and done. It would be nice to see North take a shot at em in Lenior. I know who would win but still be a fun game.

I watch all kinds of teams. Only game I got to watch so far this year was the very end of Hickory South Caldwell no defense shootout. Plenty of time for Hibriten. They’ll be around. Been nice to see them against Watauga this year.

Recap: Bandys expected. Think they put more on them than any SF team.

Maiden wins in a edge of your seat game. Told ya it could go either way in a rivalry. A shootout to boot.

EL and WL tomm. Guess their tough like that. Ford tough ha ha.

North win- I told ya them boys better not go over convident. Lincolnton is tougher than record shows and could possibly be the toughest 2 win team around the whole area. They busted em in the mouth that’s for sure. This game may leave many suspect as to wonder if they got what it takes to run with Bandys. Another Rumble of a game and with North at home and all past games for both teams to compare to its lining up to be a nailbiter.

Bandys lost to a Hickory team that does it impress me. Kept it respectable with Saint Stephens. Didn’t totally mop the floor with Lincolnton. 27-7 I guess shows they got alittle defense to show. Close shave with Maiden. Yeah, even match rolling into next Friday.

North lost to 2 teams that don’t really play any body. One team when they did start playing somebodies got showed up . But benefit of any doubt that’s beginning of season and getting feet wet with new coach and players getting used to each other. Beat WL only by a point. - Could just be one of those games. I think after WL game they really pulled together better and tonight Lincolnton played their best and gave their best and it shows when I said “it’s still Lincolnton”.

Next week at the dungeon- hype crowds, very little seating, get their early. These 2 will battle. May come down to whoever has the ball last. It was a battle in 07’ and a battle last year. Expect nothin different.

These boys have heart and will leave it on the field next week for conference championship. We had way too many mistakes tonight that kept game closer than it should have been..but yes It’s hard to believe they only have 2 wins. They played hard tonight.

Congratulations to the Knights on a hard fought victory. Going to have to play a lot better to beat Bandys though. As for our kids, I hate it for them that they have to experience a season like this. We had every opportunity to win tonight but penalties and turnovers are the kiss of death.

New to the thread folks. Enjoyed reading all the posts this season. As you can tell by my name I'm a West Lincoln fan. Had to get in and give some Rebel support lol.

Just to give everyone some background.... This is the season West parents and coaches have known was coming and next year be alot of the same faces. We are losing our backfield but replacing with strong group in bridges, beam, pendagrass, and carpenter/huitt. Defence will remain strong with OLB (bridges and beam)and ILB (carpenter) still intact except for phansook. Got a decent JV coming up looking to take that spot. We have to come up with with suitable replacements for line. Only time will tell. This same varsity team next year went 7-3 as freshman without 10 sophmores that was starting on varsity. Don't count em out.

Here lately nobody can count West out. You’ll always hear or see posts about how they don’t play nobody but that’s usually junk talk in a playful way not to take too seriously. We all give Hibriten crap bout that all the time. They really DONT play anybody ha ha. They losing 21 seniors this year so this dominance may be short lived. They’ll still win conference but don’t expect a playoff run like last year and this year.

West has proven themselves not to be basement dwellers like seasons past. Good stuff for your guys.

According to playoff predictions North will be 6 and Bandys 3. Newton Conover and Maiden right there with em. North will be 6 provided they lose to Bandys but if not may throw it off a tad. Either way they’ll play Hibriten 3rd round if they win out. Anyone know the latest or any changes on this?

I honestly don't see anyone in this conference making it past the second round, heck I wouldn't be surprised if we get swept in the first round. Im just not impressed by any team in this conference, anybody with speed will cause problems.

According to the bracket I looked at a lot of people on this bracket ARE in this conference. Unless something changes someone in the SF is playing Hibriten 3rd round. Hibriten will be there, they won’t lose, no way they lose if that bracket holds ha ha. And that’s if they use this bracket and North loses to Bandys, North shouldand may get past 1st round and they’ll play Bandys again. Either North or Bandys will have Hibriten waiting on em’

Got it, that's the one. Don't get me wrong would love a shot at North and Bandys again but as it stands we won't look too bad in little 2A considering Reidsville is #1 in could be arguably the weakest conference in NC 2A. Yes they did put one on us last year but two totally different teams this year.

BFR, I been working a lot. Being a Wolf, we haven’t had much to howl about, this season, but I’m still proud of our team’s efforts.

I’m happy to see them do well too. Even in a dismal season they still put up good fights. North did the same last year in a 2 win season an I knew y’all better look out for em this year.
EB was 3 wins in 06’, had bout the whole team come back in 07’ and went toe to toe with Indy in 3rd round during Indy’s Charlotte all star years with Tom Knotts. North is identical to that 07’ EB team in some ways and angles.

Talk bout having nothin to howl about, all we got going on in bloody Burke is Freedom. When Liberty and Heritiage middles talent or some of it anyway goes on to Freedom after 8th grade what would ya espect.

It happens. We go through a rough patch every once in awhile but we will be back to form sooner rather than later. I still think we are better than our record indicates but it is what it is. Happy for West and North to experience some success.

Yep we saw it last night. A handful of plays a game go the other way... you got a whole different season. That was North last year. Unfortunately our D was bottom in the state BAD and never could make a stop. We could have been .500 last year even with our D.

A little more athletic this year but mostly better coaching on defense.
