Just curious. I was looking at the projections on the HighschoolOT site. They are showing Lexington in, but with a 5-4 record. Their actual record is 5-5. That likely would make a huge difference, since other 5-5 teams will probably be left out.Good question oc, I would think that they would compare all teams on a ten-game basis to make it easier for seeding purposes.
Thanks GoN. Guess Highschool OT thinks they are a down east team, with one game to go. They may want to recalculate. Either way, looks like we're headed to Lincolnton for a tail kicking. Hornets' nest up that way.No if you only play 10 games then your seeding is based on your 10 game record.

First time I had visited it. I was just looking for something more recent than Simmons from earlier in the week. The highschoolOT site definitely isn't the best. Probabaly the least accurate of any I've seen.
It would be right up there with NC State over Houston in '83.I think Lincolnton wins if y'all play but if you guys can establish a solid run game early, you may give them fits. From what I'm hearing their defense is charmin soft hence why a decent, not great maiden team ran for over 500 yards on them and scored damn near 70 points last night.
You're right about highschoolOT. I prefer Simmons projectionsThe highschoolOT site definitely isn't the best. Probabaly the least accurate of any I've seen. Some of the better projections had Lexington at 6-4 assuming they were going to beat Thomasville which didn't happen so their seeding should look very different at 5-5.
Not to go against your opinion by much...don't let this one game in the least fool you about our "lack of defense".. History in the past few years in this rivalry has been bad except for last year in the mud bowl...year before that QB Farley had 300 yards in the first half against us on the same field...we flat out didn't attempt to play ball last night and the blue devils punished us in every aspect...we seriously didn't win 9 straight by not playing defense until last night.... I'll be the first to admit...do we have a typical smash mouth approach defensively like previous years NO....but we can and have shown that we can stop teams of good caliber...offensively it covers up the blemishes so to speak....moving forward we can't get down and be forced to stop a team as a maiden and the offense have to yet again "cover" up those blemishes... The defense just has to man up for 5 more games doing whatever it takes....U guys are still among the top contenders to win the title. I haven't seen you play but continue to see a theme in the discussions on here about the d dense being soft. Could be message board chatter, hell I don't know.
Conference record has nothing to do with seeding. Conference champs are seeded, then overall record. Ties broken by head to head, 11 game record, then maxpreps ranking.I do have Lexington in the playoffs though, as they are one of MANY 5-5 teams fighting for the last few playoff spots....the tiebreaker that benefits Lexington is conference record, and their .400 (2-3) should be more than enough to get them in....the ones getting the last couple of spots with a draw (and the ones that get left out) will be 5-5, 1-4
The Mule based on your above statement who will be the top seed from the Northeastern Coastal Conference between the tri-conference champion Northeastern,Holmes, and Hertford County with all three beating each other? BigBird and AcesWild2323 help out here. Thanks.Conference record has nothing to do with seeding. Conference champs are seeded, then overall record. Overall record first and then Go on maxpreps website and look up how each team is rated if necessary. The Mule based on your above statement who will be the top seed from the Northeastern Coastal Conference between the tri-conference champion Northeastern,Holmes, and Hertford County with all three beating each other? You're right. Yet the state doesn't want to use head to head if there are more than two teams for seeding. Makes absolutely no sense.Conference winning has nothing to do with seeding but it does have to do with qualifying if there is a tie. If two teams are 5-5 and there is only one spot left in the playoffs the tie breaker is as follows:
(1) All Head-to-Head Competition:
(i) The non-conference game(s) that are dropped for seeding purposes may still be used in breaking a tie
(2) Conference Winning Percentage
(3) Draw
Qualifying procedure and seeding procedure are different.
Yes, I was there. I remember meeting you but I didn't remember you posting name. Enjoyed the meeting. Great BBQ and a good game.Mule, were you on the Reidsville posters that came to South Granville five years ago that I met at Bob's BBQ before the game?....and by the way I was talking about qualifying, not seeding
