Pine Forest @ Purnell Swett - Rams are tough at "Big Mo", but I think the Trojans will squeak it out..... Trojans 20-19

Lumberton @ Wilson Hunt - L-Town rolls into Wilson to take on 3a power Hunt. I'll take the Pirates in a close one. L-Town 20-17

Pinecrest @ Overhills - Pinecrest starts the season off with a "W". Patriots 28-14

Rocky River @ Richmond - Raiders take down RR for the 3rd year in a row. Raiders 28-21

South View @ Scotland - Scots try to not over look the Tigers before their showdown with Indy and they won't. Scots 28-7

New Hanover @ Hoke - I'll take the Bucks in a upset. Hoke 28-24

I have heard PF is looking good, very athletic and can throw it. I will take them over PS.
Lumberton on the road is a close game, I will take Hunt.
PC will handle Overhills.
RC is having problems with their offense. This could be a low scoring game. RC in a close one.
SC by as much as they want against SV.
NH wins to start the Smith ERA part 2.

+1

Hope he is ok. Losing another QB before the season starts is awful and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Port,
Any details on the injury. That is unreal. 2 years in a row. Hope he is ok soon.[/QUO
Probably a sprang knee. Could be out 1- 4 weeks. They will not need him against SV so I would think that he will defiantly sit week 1.

Pine Forest @ Purnell Swett, PF 24-20

Lumberton @ Wilson Hunt, Wilson Hunt, 28-27

Pinecrest @ Overhills, Pinecrest 35-13

Rocky River @ Richmond Senior, Richmond 35-31

South View @ Scotland, Scotland 47-8

New Hanover @ Hoke County, New Hanover 34-14

Pine Forest escapes Purnell Swett with the 'W'. Lumberton loses a close one on the road at Wilson Hunt. Pinecrest overwhelms Overhills. Richmond Senior gets a victory over Rocky River. Scotland stomps South View. New Hanover heads back to Wilmington with a road win over Hoke County.

Lumberton @ Wilson Hunt. Young QB at the helm for the Pirates who has a bright future ahead of him but has first game jitters in this one against a solid 3A program on the road. I'll lean in Wilson Hunts Favor in a tight one. Wilson Hunt 28 Lumberton 24

Scotland Fighting Scots have a team that has a ton of potential but take a little blow early with an injury to their Senior QB. But lucky for them they have a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball and South View has a freshman QB. Scotland 52 South View 6

Richmond Raiders have a new coach at the helm and a lot of speed in the wideout position. Their quick pace can make or break them in this early game. Home field advantage tips the odds in their favor. Raiders 28 Rocky River 24

Purnell Swett has a new coach on their staff who has a ton of energy. If those players can catch a spark themselves I think they could handle Pine Forest. Home game at Big Mo and a huge momentum swing towards their next couple games if they can pull it off. But judging from that jamboree I'm not sure they are there yet. Pine Forest 28 Rams 24

Hoke County seems to be a team that always has the athletes but lack a belief in themselves. They have a great man to lead them at the top in Paris. Could this be the year things change in the Bucks favor? With a solid back and speed at the WR position, this big game at home against New Hanover can unwrap the mystery. Hoke County 26 New Hanover 24

Pinecrest is a team that has a lot of players coming back from a team that made a lot of noise last year. Scary thought for any team facing them this year. The first team to get the chop unfortunately is Overhills. Pinecrest 42 Overhills 14

All can attest to is L-town and PS. tired of trying to compare our counties football programs to the ones west of NC HWY 401. For all of my comments to RC, SC, Pinecrest, and Hoke that offended anyone I am sorry.

Lumberton who is one of the biggest 4a schools in the state. Last time I checked they were in the top 15 is numbers attending the school. Had there QB on the run the entire time last Thursday. Yes he has some skills. However, I think anyone who will watch that film will put 8 in the box and slant and blitz and put him on the run again. Hope they prove me wrong!! No I don't, its Lumberton. I would vote for Hillary before pulling for the Pirates.

Purnell Swett, had more penalties in 30 minutes of scrimmage that the other 6 teams had combined. That was less than a week ago. Penalties mean undisciplined and cardiovascular system not as strong as it can be.

Both teams played 2A schools and one being a 3 time state champ and the other looking like a state champ holding a 4a school to 2 points in fuzz ball.

So both teams will start the year off slow, Pine Forest will win. But if it is close the home bleachers will blame the refs, the concession stand, or the grass.

(L) Lumberton CONSIDERABLE 28-20
(W) Scotland Fighting Scots BIG 47-25
(W) Richmond Raiders EXTRAVAGANT 34-7
(L) Purnell Swett VERY PUNY 30-0
(-) Hoke County
(W) Pinecrest TITANIC 51-8

Lonnie,

Be careful of bashing players. I said something to the similar effect in another thread and a PSHS parent had his undies go so far up his rear that he could have used them to slice cheese.

Great job Scots, Rich, and PC. everyone else is like Tiger Woods this week. Normal! At least I don't have to listen how the refs, grass, humidity, pre-game food etc caused the loss.

So the start of the new uptempo, spread, throw it around offense is 0-1. Scoring 2 points in 2 weeks! This isn't soccer.
