I'm surprised I haven't heard more about Weldon till now, destroyed most of their competition and their only loss was to a nineteen win 4A team. Weldon has a ton of size and athletes, including a 6'3 center that averages 21 pts, 11 reb and 4 blocks. I'm concerned, Murphy will have to bring their A+ game next week.

Old Dominion commit, it looks like. It will be a test for Murphy’s bigs, for sure. Interesting sidenote—Weldon was also the opponent the last time an SMC school made the finals in basketball.

I just saw this on NCHSAA and I got my score from someone at the game that was posting the Girls Murphy - Mitchell game the same I was hearing on the Radio stream. I also saw my score on Chatham Charter's Twitter page.

Murphy’s size and pressure will be too much for Weldon to handle. Weldon is not very good after their top 2 kids. Murphy wins big.
One of the Asheville stations, My40, already has four time slots on its schedule for next Saturday saying high school basketball, although they don’t yet list which games they will be. (I’m guessing Murphy girls at noon, Shelby boys at 2:30 and Freedom boys at 7:30, and flip a coin for which 5 o’clock game). But them carrying games tells me if you get any stations owned by Sinclair, you should get games.

There was only one OT. I was seeing a 58-58 final, then OT and a 61-61 final then the 63-66 final and that was on high school ot . I am sure it was probably not people running the website but a member posting the scores.
