We welcome a “Newcomer” to Mooresville as these 2 team have never met but Mooresville is no stranger to the Winston/Guilford area schools and Traditionally Mooresville is like 2-11 or something like that vs schools in that area. I believe our wins are over SWG (Cowboys) and Page ….

Mooresville has to clean up penalties as they have had at least 5-10 personal foul in last 2-3 games and such. Mooresville laid 70 on Alexander Central but I don’t see it this week.

NWG has always seemed to be a good competitive program and they are somewhat like Mooresville in term of size , style and all.

I still think Mooresville DL and Offense is clicking right now. Only weakness is maybe Secondary in spots/times

Give me Mooresville by 10 at home

Cannot pretend I know much about NWG.

But from some BeReal things I’ve been told, not the biggest size wise, but lots of athleticism. And offensively it appears to be a somewhat of a mirror image of us as far as formations.

Should be a good one, I’d take us 31-21 at home.

Page Pirates 44, if he decides to enter this thread, could fill you in on Northwest as thoroughly as anyone from the Triad. So could Mister War Head and another dude from Northwest that posts here sometimes.

Northwest is pretty good. They have size on the lines and they give the QB time to get the ball out to their playmakers. The thing that impressed me the most (this year) was their defense. They have a solid secondary. If they have success stopping your run game, it might not spell good for you.

What are there weaknesses ?

This year is a lil bit of a surprise to be honest…..our secondary is pretty strong and for the most part we play clean football….should be good game
This is going be a dual bc yall have solid backs and good WRs so I think this game will be won who control the line of scrimmage

Their defense has been impressive, particularly the secondary, which seems to anticipate plays well and can effectively shut down passing options. The way they handled the run game in their last few matches has shown that if teams can’t establish the run, their entire offensive strategy becomes compromised.

I like the QB's way to buy some time and make big plays.

This feels like a game where both teams, because of the cold, are really going to try to establish the run. Mooresville has three RBs that can hit a home run on a given play.. and all 3 have very distinctly different running styles which allows them to complement each other extremely well. Then you got the QB that has some serious wheels when needed (4.4 guy).

I think whoever runs the ball the best, wins. I don’t see either team trying to air the thing out much.

I am pulling for Northwest in this one, as I went to Summerfield Elementary and NW Guilford Middle in my early years. Still have a bit of nostalgic sentiment for that area of the county.

10-10 halftime

The fact this game is even close is beyond frustrating. Our offense couldn’t get out of its own way even if it wanted to. Defense has been dominant most of the night.

What did you say about when it gets cold ?

NWG 10
Mooresville 27

After a frustratingly slow start, Mooresville found itself a bit in the second half and won. From the start, our defense was dominant all night. I felt Northwest really had a hard time blocking our DL’s speed off the ball. Idk any stats, but it felt like we were in on like 10 sacks. Flip side, our OL had a horrible night and really struggled to block NWG up front in the first half.

I felt the game really shifted in our favor on the opening kick of the 3Q… where we caused a fumble and recovered it. Setting up the go ahead 45 yard FG. From that moment, we never looked back.

The win snaps a 12 year drought from advancing to the 3rd rd. On to the next.

Pretty spot on…good luck here on out
