Might as well go ahead and get this one started! Will be one if the better games of the 2nd round..

Hibriten will be the best team by far Burns has seen since Shelby.. Burns will be the best team Hibriten has seen since Alexander Central Week 1..

Thoughts?

Burns! No one in in the entire 2A division can contain Pryor. We felt that we did a good job on him, and he still ran for 160, we just never gave him the home run. Hibriten didn’t beat Wilkes Central as convincingly as I would have thought, and by the sounds of it, allowed their runningback some success running the ball, that doesn’t bode well with Pryor coming to town.

I think this is going to be a good game. Pryor will definitely be the difference maker as he has been in most games this year. Hibriten hasn’t played anyone since week 1 for sure. We shall see what happens Friday night.

If Hibriten keys on Pryor, Sweezy can be productive through the air.. He had a couple long throws to his receivers tonight

I will agree, after just seeing them, they slowed Morrison down somewhat, he didn’t hit the big homeruns, but I thought he was effective all night

Morrison did most of his damage tonight by himself... If Burns O-Line can help open up some holes and mix in the pass a little bit then Hibriten will be in for a long night defensively... Our offense played well tonight thankfully to help offset Morrison.

Beamer, Pryor is a special player and has a motor that never slows down.If he has a big game I believe Burns advances.Good luck to both teams.
Like someone said earlier, Shelby was the closest to shutting down Pryor, and he still had 160 yards. One thing that doesn't get talked about because he's so special, is he can be prone to fumbles. He lost 2 last night. The further we go this year, the more important holding on to that ball gets. We can't afford giving good teams the ball back. I think this will be a shootout. I'm really excited about it.

Morrison got his yards and does against everyone. I’m sure Pryor will get his, but HHS has weapons also! QB is a player! Running back by committee has worked. Everyone has been a little down on HHS, schedule, losing to AC no explosive runner.... but were young, very young and hey if Burns wins, a 2nd rd. loss isn’t as bad as it could be! Think this game is gonna be a good one!

KM did shut Pryor down held him under 40 yards. We had a key offensive lineman out but that doesn’t make that big of a difference. The kid is a good athlete and has a motor. He can carry the load and do a lot but the defense is going to have to get stops and get off the field. Linemen going both ways against options teams will kill you in the playoffs. You just have to dig deep and want it more.

This is more like a round 3 game for sure. I like what Burns has done this year and they are very capable of winning this game. Home field advantage and common playoff territory for the Panthers evens this one up. I see it as a one touchdown game

Hey Beamer, or anybody from Hibriten question... My dad wants to come to the game with me but I need some info on accessibility to the stadium. He has a prosthetic leg, has had it for a couple months now, but still struggles with walking long distances and hills... I'm sure there are hills considering it's Lenior, but just curious how difficult it is to get from the parking lot to the visitors side? And also if there might be any chance for assistance? A few weeks ago at East Gaston they were able to bring a Gator over to help... Any info is much appreciated! Looking forward to my first trip to Hibriten

Hibriten has carts to shuttle fans from the parking lot. Can't miss this one.

Rematch of 2016 but I see a closer game and a Burns win. Pryor was actually on that team as a 9th grader....great fans up that way but the visitor side seats 10 people at most.
Great size home side, but shockingly bad visitors side, the worst I’ve seen. I had to stand on the track the entire game, and the track was too crowded as well. Cleveland County and South Point fans travel well. Hibriten seriously needs to do something about that visitors side, no doubt.

So I watched a replay of one of the Hibriten games on youtube. That boom boom boom boom celebration song Hibriten press box plays every 1st down/touch down is the most cringe worthy audio for a high school football game.

I'm literally making this face when I hear it...

@notanyonesfan. There is also handicap parking available in the parking lot closest to the baseball field if you guys have a placard.... From there it would be a short walk up the final hill and might even be able to have a ride to as close as possible depending on how many people are working them this week. According to my wife whose mom has come to a couple games over last 3 years, At the time when you pull in you can probably ask one of the workers to radio for one of the carts.

Does Hibriten still run into the stadium behind the motorcycles and was it Hell’s Bells or For whom the bell tolls?
Thought that was cool !

heck not sure I’ve even got the right team I am getting old !!

The kid from Burns is going to be a problem. We maybe hoping for a shootout.

HECK beamer i think the whole dang team is going to be a problem,, a little concerned about this one. Mackey made good adjustments to a great running back last friday night but we cant let this one run as freely this week. I really think this might be a great game but the panthers are going to have to play flawless football for 4 quarters and i cant remember that happening this year. Wilkes o line manhandled our d line,, they used our speed getting up the field against us...It sure would be nice if hibriten could get #27 back,, they need his speed and tackling ability out there.

Freedom used to have the motorcycles but they haven't the last few times we've played up there.

And no play clocks. And two years ago they decided to "break" the game clock just before the game started so we had no clue how much time was left in each quarter.[/QUOTE]

lol Pretty sure shelbys offense was moving efficient enough, not to worry about play clocks.... That year it was 7 to 0 with no time run off the clock,,lol or as long as it took the running back to run 70 yards...

And we never saw the endzone again. Well actually we did...but ya know...that ol' chop block....smh.

I posted this on another thread, but did the rules change for hosting a playoff game in regards to visitor stadium seating capacity? It was 750 minimum seating for 2A games on the visitors side or the game could be moved.

I am pretty sure if that was the case the last 2 regional finals would have have been played in shelby...

Someone just confirmed.. it is 750 on visitors side to host a playoff game. Maybe schools didn't know they could take advantage of that and take away a home field advantage or maybe those stadiums hold the minimum and it just seems so small to us that are not use to it.

Visiting school has to make complaint by noon on the Monday prior to the game.(Burns you got less than a hour, lol) On the NL thread, someone put the entire rule up.

I really think its talked about every year,, and i may be wrong but the last thing i think i remember hearing was the total capacity home and away . I think the visitors section at hibriten holds maybe 500?? And last burns hibriten game was very full, but it seemed most people chose to stand down on the track.

MINIMUM SEATING REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Class 1A — host 1000, visitors 500; Class 2A — host 1450, visitors 750; Class 3A — host 2000, visitors 1000; Class 4A — host 2500, visitors 1500. The Executive Committee has authority to move a play-off game when the circumstances are perceived to warrant such action even if the host school meets the minimum seating requirements. If additional seating is required to meet the above standards, the expense shall be that of the host school. A $1000 penalty shall be imposed on schools failing to meet seating requirements. If the visiting team has a complaint regarding the playing facility, it shall be registered by noon on the Monday preceding the game. In the event of such a complaint, the President of the Board of Directors shall have the authority to appoint a committee of three members of the Board to investigate the facilities. This committee shall be vested with the full authority to set the site for the game. If a neutral site is selected, the representatives of the two playing schools shall meet with a representative of the school furnishing the neutral field to agree on game management.
