I just read the Laurinburg Exchange and saw Bailey's statement after Scotland's' loss to Pinecrest quote: “I really do feel like they’re (Pinecrest) the best football team in the conference".

That should be some good Raider locker room material to post!!

Go Raiders

Not sure what he was thinking saying this. I'm sure it is posted on the walls of the locker room and weight room. Why give your rival extra motivation?

What do you mean?
The way I read it is that acknowledging the strengths of the opponent can be a powerful motivator. By recognizing Pinecrest as the best team in the conference, it not only shows respect for their abilities but also sets a clear benchmark for the Raiders to aspire to.
This kind of acknowledgment can fuel a sense of determination within the team. For instance, when athletes recognize the level of competition they’re up against, it often pushes them to elevate their own performance. We’ve seen this in various sports where teams rally together after a tough loss, using it as motivation to improve and come back stronger.

Moreover, this statement could serve as a wake-up call for the Raiders to assess their own strengths and weaknesses and remind them that there's always room for growth.

Just my 2-cents!

Just for context RC beat Pincrest 36-7.

Also, the last time Scotland played at Raider Stadium Scotland prevailed 22-21! I hope this game will be another classic between the two teams, regardless of their respective records. Me and my family will be making the trip from Raleigh, can't wait!! Also thank you sec2011, Richmond completely dominated Pinecrest in a blowout 36-7!

I see Scotland’s record is 4-5 this year. I know Bailey is an outstanding coach. Must be lack of talent. With this being a rivalry game I figured they would be more talk on this game.

I agree! Not much discussion, unlike Richmond vs Scotland games in the past. Regardless I will be making the trip from Raleigh to see my Raiders play Scotland this Friday!

Go Raiders!

Coaching can certainly make a significant difference in a team's performance, but player talent and execution on the field are crucial as well.

Last time these 2 played at Raider stadium, richmond up 21-14 with ball deep in scot territory around 4 minutes people are actually leaving, scot gets a stop on 4th down,
Scot drives then has a 4th and 20 at the 20, pi in the endzone, then 4th and 10 from the 10, scots score, scots go for two and run the Philly special and get the two-point conversion, Richmond drives to about the Scotland 20 or so and the Scots intercept in the end zone in the game final seconds,
22-21 classic…

Looks like our Marlboro game has been changed to a win,
Forfeit, ineligible players, 5-4
All those x clinton players following the coach maybe some illegalities there,
Marlboro banned in SC playoffs..

I would never go watch another school play when Richmond is playing anyone especially the skirts....

was thinking that maybe so raider, parents live over near Angier so not
totally shafting the Scots this week, just going to see a good game in
the right area this week,, i think Ill get the better game though to be honest.
but then there always is the saying "thats why they play the game".....

Traveling to see good football should be done more. You’ve definitely done that this year!

Scotswin, of all the teams you've seen this year, which team would you say is the best so far?

I get it....Family always trumps football games!

1 weddington
2 hough
3 rolesville
4 c gibbons
5. E forsyth

Have not seen grimsley so from who ive seen looking at a
Hough weddington
Vs
Gibbons. Rolesville

title game
The west is a much tougher road, but I do feel those are the best too in the east.. i am seeing
Clayton @ Cleveland to add to the list. Looking forward to watching some great playoff games in the 4a West. have seen Weddington play five times in the last year and a half, the talent level there is really high and the coaching is even better, Adjustments made at halftime are point on..
