Had to work fri nite so I didn't see the Jamboree scrimmage with NE...can anyone give an honest view of how Reidsville looked??.....just by seeing a lack of posts I would infer that they didn't do as well as fans are expecting...…...
Since Reidsville keeps talking so much about how much you could beat AC Reynolds why don't you just put them on your schedule for the next 5 years. How about putting some real teams on your schedule. Replace the Mcmichael game with ACR. Mcmichael which is Hardly ever any good. Man up play somebody, quit talking about who you could beat show us.
Why don't you guys schedule East Forsythe, West Forsythe or Wake Forest. They are your neighbors not far to travel. Now that would be a real challenge. Keeping it real.
We can't take micmichael off the schedule, they are a county school. No one said we would beat acr, just saying it would be a good game. I said I'd give a slight edge to us. We don't control the schedule. We play Eastern Guilford which has been a good 3a team.
Shelby love to come to our post making negative comments for some reason, yet you never see Reidsville poster coming on their post making negative comments. Who’s sweating who.
That’s where you’re wrong, bro. Franky used to stay in our threads taking shots, as did a few others, especially when we were off to a shaky start last year, and it was thought that we were down.

Can’t front, though, every time I’ve seen ACR slept on by a couple of you guys, I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, thinking, “they just don’t know”. They are not your average, one dimensional mountain team. They run the spread, and throw the ball all over the place, balanced offensively. Their quarterback last season signed with ECU, their 2015 all world athlete, Rico Dowdle, plays runningback for the Gamecocks. That’s a good program. Hear they may be down this year, though. Can’t go by scrimmages, though.

It’s interesting that y’all would even schedule a 1A team, though, it does appear that y’all are record and constant “homefield advantage in the playoffs” conscious, rarely taking any risk that could possibly leave an L on that record, very calculated moves. Surely not everyone is ducking the Rams.

Schedules? I dont see Shelby playing Charlotte teams, which are geographically closer than some opponents on their schedule. Why is that? Likely same reason few 4A Greensboro teams play the Rams, they dont want to risk looking bad against a little 2A school.
Shelby is very fortunate to have quality county opponents, as well as SP in the conference. Rams would love to play bigger, better, local teams but take what they can get. They might be 1AA, but East Surry and Mt Airy are as good as any team in 2A/2AA Eastern Guilford is loaded with talent from 3AA.

High Point Central being 4a maybe more of a test than both of them for us. East Surry does have 3 division 1 players, so we will see if they have enough to beat Tarboro this year.
And to clarify my main point about East Forsyth and Acr. Reidsville and East Forsyth both had openings week one, my point was Reidsville is about 30 mins from East Forsyth, I'm not sure why the game didn't happen compared to the trip to acr.
Shelby has always been afraid to play good Meck Cty teams. To make it look good, once in a while they schedule a mediocre to low level Meck team like North Meck for their 3rd game or Myers Park(when they were a little less than avg) for a scrimmage.
To be fair every few years they(and Crest) will schedule a Gaffney SC for home and home and get blown out in the first or second game. But for some reason, Meck Cty(even Spartanburg Cty - SC) which are way closer than the mountain schools, they're scared to death to schedule.

How do you know North Davidson couldn’t have put a 100 on them too, though? East Duplin beat Graham by 70 a couple of years, seems to be a common theme now whenever your conference opponents play quality competition. And, I give a rat’s ass about politics.
To be fair Reidsville's conference schedule does seem to be as strong as wet tissue paper. I guess it does keep them healthy.
I feel even worse for the jv players. Most of these teams don't have jv's.
Morehead and Mcmicheal tried to get in the conference this year, but everyone said no besides by and Reidsville. We should remodel the conference to be Morehead, Reidsville, Mcmicheal, By.
Reidsville needs to prove to us they can play with the big boys. How about scheduling some decent football opponents. Give me a break McMichael, Mt Airy, and Morehead really!! tough. Keep scheduling cupcake opponents.
Again we have to play the county teams. Mcmichael,Rockingham County and Morehead are in our county.
What I don't get you hear all year them cupcake teams are gonna hurt come playoff time and seems to me Reidsville seems to win championships an 0-10 team could beat a 10-0 team all matters who wants it bad enough. Heard cupcakes for years and seems Reidsville keeps on rolling all you can do is play who every is in front of you same come playoff time. You either win or go home.

It's a dead horse that keeps get beat. No one piped up when we had Cummings and Western Alamance on the schedule and and both were title contenders. No one piped up when we played 3x defending 3aa champs Northern Guilford and had them on the ropes No one piped up when we played Andrews and they were consistently on of the top programs in the state. No one piped up when we played NW Guilford a few years back and got drug nor did you praise or give credit when we beat the hell out of them 3 years in a row...btw they have 2300 students. No one is satisfied unless we take a loss and even if we do no one is satisfied.
We all need to take a long hard look at the long term viability of football in NC. Small schools are struggling to field teams. Kids aren't playing. Schools like Shelby and Reidsville are spoiled. We remain on top because of our past success. At the end of the day, play who they put on the schedule. Beat who's on the schedule. Play for rings. The cream is always going to rise to the top. The best teams play in the 3rd and 4th rounds regardless of who they play in the regular season. No one remembers who you had to beat to get to the RING

McMichael and Morehead are now 2-A but they had to remain in the Mid-State Conference, which is now a split conference, due to the scheduling nightmare it would have created to disband at this point. The winner of this year's McMichael-Morehead game will get a playoff bid (Morehead made it in 3-A last year).
In the next realignment, Reidsville will have Morehead and McMichael as conference foes which will open up more dates for non-conference out-of-county opponents.
The new conference will probably have Reidsville, Morehead, McMichael, Bartlett Yancey and what's left of the Alamance County 2-A schools. Hopefully Carrboro, NCSSM and Durham School of the Arts will be out. Will save a lot of travel costs.
And, by the way, some of those schools in Reidsville's conference may be weak in football but they are state powerhouses in other sports.

34-33 Northern, Rams went for two in double ot. In 2015 13-10 Rams fumbled late with the lead and Northern capitalized. Really could have won both. 2014 Northern won 33-17, I think they won states that year don't remember.
that 34-33 2OT loss to N. Guilford (2013) was a classic....Rams went for 2 and the win in the 2OT and was stopped inches short...……………….NG was 14-1 on the field that year losing to Crest in state semi-finals...………...
