At 4a jacksonville high an tookem to a semi finals in late 90s an was in school when jackonville went to the state title in 1994 in 4a ..... northside will be playing its last yrs as a 2aa school the student population is close to 1300 kids .. this isn't the same 0 -6 eastern final school with 800 kids be very aware of this ...they can pass an they can run ... their qb was a 1500 yd rb last yr an have huge wr every where ... this will be the fastest team shelby has played ... this game will boil down to turnovers an mistakes .. not talent ... 28 -21 who ever has less amount of turnovers .. an rember this team ran a 98 yd punt return vs clinton an i assure u clinton has speed everywhere .. good luck to both teams

Shelby beat south point, who is in the 3a state championship 24 - 0. We beat Monroe 28 - 7, who beat weddington and they are in the 3aa state championship. Havelock and Jacksonville don't scare Shelby.

I've seen Jacksonville and they are very good, but Shelby would beat by three touchdowns. Heck a good Lee County team should have beaten them. If you think Northside, who I'm pulling for by the way, has any chance of winning this game, I've got some oceanfront property for you at cheap price up in Boone.

Your out of your mind. 3 TD some of y'all are just crazy. Lee County should have but did not because they got gashed for damn near 500 yards of total offense. So if you think Shelby beats Jacksonville by 3 TD then what would they beat your good Lee County team by? 6 TD. You make no damn sense talking crazy.

I hope you do remember the time in 2004 you played a team from Jacksonville and you all had all this confidence before you stepped on the field to play? There was no way the mighty Shelby Lions was going to get beat. SWO did what to you? So just stop with all that noise. Everyone knows that you have a great program and all and that you have won 3 years and what not. But the team that your playing is in the championship game for a reason. Contrary to what all of you have believed they have beaten teams who very well could beat your team in these playoffs. So for y'all to think that your going to just blow them out is crazy.
Shelby could be the best (HS) football team in NC at any level. From Raleigh and all points east of that point they ARE the best team at any level.
Neither ED or Clinton would have beat Shelby this year. I'd bet $$ on that.

Northside has played a very good schedule this season. Their opponents have a combined record of 129-65, including 2 games against 13-1 Clinton, 2 games vs 13-2 E. Duplin, plus 11-2 Bunn, 13-2 Havelock, and 10-5 Jacksonville.
Randleman, W. Carteret, N. Brunswick, and SW Onslow all also had winning records. Northside has only played 4 of 15 games against teams with losing records. They should be very battle tested.

All that data is very impressive, PROVIDED that the teams on that list ARE as good as advertised. Experience tells us that when it comes to the eastern teams, you never know. Could be world beaters all, or just the tallest midget contest winner. But this is a sure enough fact: If Shelby runs the table in their neck of the woods, where unquestionably the best football teams, year in and year out in North Carolina are located, that is the definition of "battle tested."
I think Rocky Mount and havelock might have a few things to say about this opinion.... However this isn't really saying much... There isn't a while lot in general that is eat of raleigh
