Mountain Six- Week Eleven

East at Smoky-Smoky by 3
Hendersonville -Brevard.-Hendersonville by 8
Bears at Franklin. The Friday win was big for the bears but it want mean nothing if we don't beat Franklin and Brevard. We win those two we play at home and win conference.
We always have a hard time at the pit. Certainly, the refs are part of it.The last time we won there none of these kids playing were born. Franklin in 6-3 and 4-0 at the pit. It's time we end that jinks and their home record. Should be a really good game.

Pisgah beat Franklin in 2010. 43-21 so most of em were 8-10 years old. But yes it feels that long since Pisgah beat Franklin.

What does his stats matter? He's a legit 6'5" TE with great hands. He has worked on his speed and gotten faster from last year. He a good run blocker. Just a great all around athlete. That's what got him on the roster. Not his stats. He obviously impressed someone at the camp or he wouldn't be there.

I think he'll play offensive tackle at NC State. He's already a good run blocker and D1 schools love converting big high school tight ends into offensive lineman, they can put the kind of weight they want on them as opposed to a kid showing up with a bunch of bad weight and there's the footwork factor as far teaching them proper footwork instead of having to potentially break bad habits.

If stats meant anything then the kid from Mt Heritage should have been a lock last season. If you are not a division one caliber player you're not playing in the Shrine Bowl. Thats just how it is.
Wolf unfortunately you're right.

He's a pretty good punter as well.

He was offered as a TE, in a year when State wasn’t planning to offer any TE’s at all. They were so impressed with his skill set that they thought he was too good to pass up, and offered him in 2018 anyway.

The fact that they werent planning on offering any tight ends tells you what you need to know, its called a sales pitch. Schools will offer some kids as TE's just to get them on campus and then convert them when they get there, as many would balk at the notion of being moved to the o-line. Ive seen the kid play two years now and he is prime conversion candidate.

I think he will get a chance to play early if he makes the move. Just think, Lane Johnson was a qb and moved to tackle at Oklahoma and is now a starter for the eagles

Evidently no one else in our conference has an opinion about their perspective teams.

Where's all those Panthers fan that were running their mouth last year?

I'm sure we'll hear from them when they win. As expected.

Working 60hrs a week and doing Hurricane volunteer work but I'm right here. What did ya'll need? If ever there was a year that little brother was going to beat big brother this would be the year. I can live with it happening once or twice a decade though. Win or lose Friday night WNC knows who the premier team in the conference has been the last 10 years. Here's to an injury free game for both sides!

CANE, I will say I have grown to like the spirit of competition between our two teams, even though you guys have had our number a few too many times for our liking. I would venture a guess that our communities parallel one another in many regards, and we can both be thankful that most years we have good teams we can enjoy. Who should we be watching for Franklin Friday in the rain? And, would it be fair to say that, "The Pit" turns into, "The Mud"?

Amen to that!!! Purely subjective here but I think the natural playing surface in the Pit is one of if not the best in the state. Will it get muddy with to much rain....absolutely! It does hold up really well though. As far as kids to watch for. #11 QB, 4,9,11,&14 WR's, 34 is been getting some burn at TB. On D #1,26,10,47,53 & some more. Hard to figure which Panther team will show up. We could get beat by 50 or it could go down to the wire!

Going to be a good ol fashioned slobber knocker for sure. Hopefully the rain stays south of us.

Well well...its the best week of the year...its pisgah week...and the 2018 version of the bears looks mighty solid no doubt..preseason unanimous choice to win the conf..adjusted max preps ranking has them currently #3 in 2a ahead of teams like hibriten..shelby..s point..reidsville..wrh..n davidson to name a few..all jokes aside pisgah will bring a senior laden experienced football team w play makers everywhere to the pit on friday night..looks like game could be played in somewhere from fair to horrendous conditions depending on exact track of storm..i would say some actual football dialogue would be nice but i guess we shall see how our favorite neighbors to the east respond...enjoy the week..its always my favorite

Well look what the cat dragged in! What provoked you to come out of hiding?
You mentioned "senior laden", our seniors are doing a fantastic job in the leadership role and are forces to be reckoned with especially #1, #3, #10, #13, #17, and the big guys #72, #75 and #77. Would almost make one think that after graduation, we won't have nothing next year. But wait, we have 5 sophomores starters that were moved up and not to mention that moving those five key players up didn't even phase our JV squad where most of next year's juniors are playing, they're undefeated. The way it's looking we will be very competitive for awhile, that's being humble too. How's that for "actual football dialogue"?

Well well..Joe shows.

Congrats bears man...youve seemed awfully intent on WIR identity...though part of these boards is supposed to be remaining anonymous...its all good though...to me you can just be bears man...whether you work at the mill run the chain gang or actually coach it makes no difference to me..

Pisgah has a very good football team...and yes they are senoir laden but i never said anything about the future..pisgah always always has a very good jv program that does the exact same things the varisty does so as franklin fans we always expect pisgah to be as good as anyone on our schedule...the performance against hendersonville was as good as ive saw from pisgah
..no doubt franklin will have there hands full as we have won a couple of games id say few expected us to win and also had some where we simply didnt play well at all...saw the new adjusted rankings have pisgah 3rd..w two wins thats huge because that means home field thru out ...and defense wins comes playoff time...as for franklin. Just very exicted to be playing meaningful games in last two weeks of season..looks like bad weather friday night..not sure who if anyone that favors...i know our kids will play w maximum effort as im sure pisgah will also...so like i said you want dialogue im all for it
..wike is a really good high school football player..and #75 is really good and uses his hands as good as any dl ive saw in a while..i don't think it was a big secret pisgah was supposed to be very good this year..

Nice predictions. What I'm really interested in is the one thing I know you're good at... Is Pisgah still the Haywood county champs?

Please advise.
