Mount Airy 2022 Football Schedule

Buzz any reason on the moves? Especially with the lineman
Other than buzz doesn't know what he's talking about? If he means the kid who's father passed than yeah that's no surprise however he was only a starter when the kid who got hurt in preseason got hurt. That kids back. Btw dumb ass buzz. My sources tell me that he was the only junior starter on the line last year. Besides number 50 and I know him well and he's definitely playing. As far as the QB goes. Why would that be the case. Who is feeding you bs. Maybe to make you look stupid? Cause you don't need any help with that. Can you please go pull for someone else. And do t let it be east Surry. Transfer to North.

I know nothing of the "rumor" mill but I will say that last year after I watched the JV several times I said to someone, not sure who, which of the two Galimore Kids should be playing QB. I was actually very impressed with the younger one, that is not meant to take anything away from the older one. Just a statement of an observation I made last year.

I think Buzz might actually be right. The older Gallimore is good dont get me wrong, but a source told me that the younger Gallimore has srpouted to 6’4 over the winter and is getting bulked up. We could see an even better QB than any of the Boaz. We will see how it plays out.

Roughtrader444 just stfu! I'm not spreading BS just stuff I have herd and trust me ik some people in the MA group. So you go pull for someone else bc you want find a bigger supporter of Bears football than me.

Whatever dude I've been to a few games I know you and your buddies sit up there and talk shit the whole game. I do pull for somebody else I pull East. You are a terrible influence on the kids that read this stuff. And it's almost ridiculous that you're spreading rumors that you have no idea about. What I said is true. But I got a few friends with kids that play at Mount airy. There's been rumors but none of what you spread. I think you do more harm than good so really you ought to stay off here.

LMFAO who cares what you think!

Y’all realize you’ll probably be traveling to Mitchell or robbinsville this year right? So unless mt airy can keep their composure a little better this threads irrelevant

Then he missed the conference games that the post was about. I guess East Surry is guaranteed a win.
Not really man I'm sure you were talking about the conference games I was just saying they got another tough game at home and it's us. And also said I don't think I would consider the other two teams very tough conference games. Maybe star mount.

No problem, but the original poster before me, davisdorm was talking about Starmount and East Wilkes being the toughest conference games. I misread things a lot of time also. Good luck to East Surry in their conference this year

OMG, I think all the guest that have posted to this thread are wrong(LOL). If they have been reading the "other" threads you would realize for sure that Mt Airy is so trashy, as are we fans, that Mt Airy will probably go 0 and 10 this year and deserve it! They will tell you our coaches are subpar, our players are overrated, and us fans are just not suppose to be supportive of our team.

Except I will hand it to "roughtrader 4444". He is ok. Clear thinking, fair, and like me (and I am sure many others on here) pull for all our kids, all our neighbors, no matter where they live or go to school. We just want them to have a fair shot, a clean game, an opportunity to excel on the field, on the court and in the classroom.

If I look at Mt Airy's schedule as a whole, we all know the expected tough games (North Surry, East Surry, Starmount and maybe East Wilkes). BUT, the game that scares me is..... wait for it........South Stokes!

On paper, this should not be a game to worry about. However, South Stokes has players in the school. The first question is: do they go out for football?
Second point is their Coach: Over the years, he has shown an ability to play the ONLY GAME against Mt Airy that could have his team win the game. And he has had as much, if not more, success in doing that than any Coach I know.

This is a game that should not be taken for granted, in my opinion.

Thanks for the compliment my man. I'm a long time card fan moved away for a long time came back about 5 years ago. But living in Winston. I think you're talking about old Dave. I think Dave got railroaded at our school by one of our illustrious alumni. Don't get me wrong I think loman has done a fine job. He's had a good run of athletes too but he's also developed some. I think he and Atkins are the same and that they both believe in the weight room and conditioning. I think he probably gets more into those kids than anybody cuz I don't think their talent pool at East is as good as it used to be. However those four kids they have or something else. Not to mention her kid who we got from Mount airy who went to Tennessee. Looks like he made some mistakes but is getting another shot. Good for him. I don't feel like we have a whole lot coming up this year although I think we probably have one of the better athletic quarterbacks in the area. If his daddy can stay out of it long enough then he can do something special. Getting back to dave I think Dave is great football coach I think he got the wrong end of the deal at our place. But I won't speak on that anymore because it disgusts me. I'm glad he's done a good job at South Stokes. I think it might be a little scary because it's at South Stokes but JV wise that was a massive spanking last year that Mount airy gave them. I think it was in the '50s to zero. But it could be one of those eye opener games. I'm hoping we can give them a good game. I think we have a shot.

Some information I have come across is that for during spring drills Mount Airy had 24 rising Junior and Seniors working out and supposedly all 24 can and will play. Not sure how many but believe another 3 to 5 upper classmen will come out when practice starts. So varsity numbers are looking pretty decent.

With an undefeated jv team as well as middle school team, the coaches are feeling optimistic but not confident they will be as good as last year. The team lost some important players due to graduation. I have not heard anything about any transfers in or out. So it looks like we will just have to be satisfied, again, with just our hometown grown boys.

Perhaps we need to study the Charlotte area and learn about recruiting to fill our spots!!!! LOL

We don't need Charlotte boys we have all we need just as long as there is no shoe throwing during playoffs
I agree, the recruiting comment was in jesk. The shoe "tossing", if you look at the film, was after he tried to give to an official and a Mitchell player. No flag should have been thrown unless it was on the officials who were just horrible in every possible way.

I think it’ll be between Mitchell and mountain airy again this year, but it’ll be in ledger.

What's scary is I heard from a few people that there are 28 freshman that will be sophomores next year out and the 8th grade class has 29 who will be freshman next year. Geez. Where did all that come from. Is there a population spurt up there?

I remember talking to one of the School Board members and he said that one of the main factors was that at each school JK Adkins had coached, the number of players grew. It truly does not matter how good of athletes a school has if they do not grace the field come the season.

It has been pointed out in this site many times that Robbinsville has done a great job over the years getting a great participation rate at their smaller school. My belief is that the system that JK and his great staff have been developing is working as planned.

Man that's pretty amazing. We are truly lucky on that. One thing coach loman has done as well is get kids out and builds them up into good football players great men. It looks like the same at Mt airy.

In the SMC all sophomores are on Varsity none play JVs. That's party how we get good numbers considering we have 370 kids. Flip side is we are usually young over all. If we have 15 seniors it's considered very unusual. We usually have 10-12 seniors.

What's your thoughts about the Galimore Kids?

Best guess from what I am hearing is that the junior will still be at quarterback and the sophomore is becoming quite the threat at wide receiver to go along with Reveals (sp) and the pair will be very good defensive backs.
Problem/challenge for the team will be replacing 3 senior linebackers.

Also a question that I have is the Dandy kid. Great defensive end no doubt but can he become an offensive threat at tight end as well? I think he has the potential to be really good but that is based just on what I saw last year as potential: size, speed, quickness. I have no "inside" or even outside information about this.

Any thoughts other people have would be appreciated.

Also, Tyler Mason showed really great running skills last year but what impressed me as much was his killer skills as a shooter/slasher in basketball. If he has the normal sophomore to junior year growth in size, strength and maturity, he could be one of the best running backs Mt Airy has had in years.
