I totally overlooked Randolph County. One of my football poster friends, theKidd12 is from Randolph I believe.Randolph Co has 2 in state Championship as well in 3A and 2A
All 336 Championship in 3A and rematch from earlier in the season. Asheboro won the 1st matchup 4-3 early in the season.
I'm surprised no charters either especially in 1A. Mt Airy and Hobbton defeated Charters to get to the championship.
Thanks, I was glad that I got this soccer thread started. But a big thank you to you CatScratchFever23 and others that help contribute to this thread to help make it a success. I’ve enjoyed it as well and learned some things that I didn’t know. Looking forward to next season when HS soccer starts up again. The first thing I noticed is there are no charter schools in the finals. This is surprising at the 1A and 2A level to me.
Secondly, Sampson county has two in the finals, Clinton and Hobbton.
Thanks to Vik-Val for getting this started. He was able to generate 8 pages on the season with more posts to come. I had planned to post some info on the players from the teams I covered but discovered my contacts in the soccer area are no longer involved or retired. (I graduated in 82 and my daughter in 08).
I am a baseball/football guy but I love all sports related to New Hanover and have attended lots of NHHS sporting events. Although I
didn’t play soccer it is a beautiful game to watch when played well.
As my earlier post noted, based on history , you have to expect Wakefield to win 4A. Those in the west can pull extra hard for Marvin Ridge in hopes they can do the unusual.
Thanks again Vik-Val, I have enjoyed this thread.
Thank you BleedBurnsBlueYea, thanks Vik-Val. I'm a big soccer fan. Played and coached at the high school level. This was fun to keep up with on the boards this year.
Concerning 4A, it’s almost a lock that a Triangle team will win theHigh School OT says Wakefield beat Marvin Ridge 3-2 in 4A. East coming out strong so far.
