Congrats Rams! Jacksonville 40-13 SWO. Man the refs tried everything in their power to give SWO every possible break they could and we still did what we needed to. Had a couple big plays inside the red zone called back.

Conference will be decided when Havelock and Jacksonville play.
252 I listened to the game online last night. We are in Boone getting my youngest girl in college. Sounds like the Rams are off and running right out of the gate. Goodluck on your season

Washington may win the conf this year. I think we can give them a run. We don't play anyone half as good as Havelock from here on out. I heard from one of our coaches that Havelocks offense was as good or better than any we have ever faced. I feel for New Bern this Friday.
Will be good experience for our young guys. Havelock already had an explosive offense before the West Carteret transfers.

Years ago the Bears could hang and beat Havelock. Again thanks Mr. Williams for building the foundation for Bear success!!! The program now is a shell of it's former self!! Total shame too!!!!! The 4a bears now can only win in the conference against the weak 3a teams that they will play later in the season. I feel for the boys on the team. Hope the new coach can get things turned around in the next 5 yrs!
Pretty sure young developing kids going against good talent makes for a good learning experience. Lay down on the exclamation points there, Jeff. New system, new coaches, new HC, only a few seniors with playing experience etc. Ease down on the caffeine.

Lastly if you don't agree with my post, say so and bring your point of view. In the end I feel that we both want the best for bear football!
Note: this is only my 4th message on this site so I'm not sure if your quote of bashing the kids is accurate as pertains to me. I have not and will not ever bash any kid that is competing in a sport!! Also the only other site I am on is the carolina blue site where I have a total of one message on it asking for the Heels basketball box score be posted. That was last year and Adam complied.

My point of view is that the talent level has been down, which isn't hard to see. The coaching changes have also taken its toll, which happens to all schools who experience success. Friday nights game was painful to watch for several different reasons. I was embarrassed when a slew of our fans were yelling at the coach 26 minutes into his debut as the Head Coach. I'll go back and agree with you on one thing, I do feel sorry for the kids. I feel sorry that they have to listen to the 8 people in the stands ripping our new coach. Fan support has been abysmal since 2014. We have to be winning for folks to show up and support these young kids and our school, that shouldn't be the case.
I agree 100% with this post. Feel sorry for the kids that they had to hear this from some adults during the game.
NB will be back, it may take a few years but they will be back. Too much talent out there not fot them to be back, we had that same problem in Havelock for a spell... all of our talent was in the streets not on the field. Once you guys get a coach that can get the kids and parents to buy into the program it will build back up. As for the fans, i tell my kids to play for yourself and your brothers on the team, cuz the fans only love you when you are winning. Proof is in the pudding as i watched our so called fans leave early at the state game last year and watched our kids buses pull up to the school to an empty partking lot smh.
I'm a rival fan of Havelock (West Craven) but i went to the State Final to pull for Havelock. Snow flakes as big as grandma's biscuits. I did leave early but it was to get to Kenan in time to watch Wallace Rose Hill. Havelock had a huge turnout. I thought they had more than Catholic. Hard to complain on people when you are sitting in weather like that. The older you get you will find that out.
Havelock has an awesome following, the Touchdown Club does a great job. The new coach for NB is doing a good job in regards to structure and accountability. You don't see the bickering and finger pointing on the field anymore. Going to take awhile to get the new system down, hopefully we'll see some progress from week 1 to week 2 on Friday against one of the better teams in the state.
You are right, it was cold and we did have a very big turn out as we always do... Still no reason to leave the kids hanging at the time they need you the most. You sat thru 3 2/3 of the game and now you too cold to stay 5 more mins? You too cold to come back to the school and say "Thank You" to those SRS that put it all out there and wont get a chance to play for you again??? Naaa, thats no excuse cuz if we won the game the police escort and the whole city woulda been at the school celebrating like b4 lol. Not saying YOU personally, Im speaking on our fans. I understand your situation, and i appreciate your support for the 252.
We are spoiled and have been like that forever you can actually say that happens in any sport other than maybe basketball. Yes we are use to winning but I always say it takes a winner to lose with pride. Yes NB was some of the fun games we all knew each other or were much closer. Yes Havelock did lose its Mojo for a spell because of no future chances to play better coaches have come along and pretty much opened the flood gates that were already there. All three schools in Craven County were high powered at one point. The community has to bring back the kids. Havelock has done a great thing linking midget league and the middle schools to thier system and it shows. That is how all
Of these nationally ranked teams do business it is a community project. As for NB yes it will take some time for them to be back but it is still a rivalry game. If it is blow out not good for either side HHS will have a few tough games in the next 3 weeks blowouts don’t help. Not sure how Conf play will be this year but it will be fun.
Conf play will be horrible until we meet with Jville for the conf title lol... There is nothing in this conf that will even make for a close game with those 2 teams smh
Rose looks to be pretty good, didn't expect them to be but damn if they didn't whoop Hanover. The Jacksonville game at the end of the year will decide the conference. I expect Catholic/Havelock round 2 in December.
Rose has some VERY tall wideouts who can run, gonna be interesting to see how our young secondary plays against them.
Yes that should be the game it would be great to see both teams undefeated at the end we did a good job of pumping up the schedule at the beginning of the year. Conf play hurts us sometime for those grinding games. It would be good to seen CC again for some reason I don’t think they will make it to the end this year, very good run team only they use the clock Defense is pretty good have to exploite the DB’s they rely so much on that front 7. Honest we do need a revisit to Crest either one would do. Either will do some rumbiling CC may move up to 3AA but that is a few months away to find out. One game at a time we do have to settle the score with WRH and I am sure Rose wants some payback for the last two shot outs.
I think Catholic is better than last year. They had 4 turnovers against Christian and had a few starters out. Not sure anyone over in the West can beat them. Is Crest back?
WRH lost a lot but that system they run is legit.
Rose/Havelock should be a shootout.
CC they are missing that running back that they had last year. Christian was able to move the ball somewhat better than other teams. Have to see how they do they have a good schedule
If HHS shuts down the pass game of Rose that would be a plus and good for us our enemy is the pass and has always been. Time will tell both will be great games
Im not too sure about pass defense being our weakness the last couple if yrs, the run has been whats been killing us since we won 3 in a row other that the 2nd rd loss
True but they have 16 returning starters from last year which is a strong number. Will be interesting to watch it play out.
Yes they do Front seven will play a big part in that matchup if we can get the QB before he sets that will help a lot. We have to play really physical that should be a good game also
