Looks like a high-scoring game may be in the works. Both teams are averaging just under 50 points a game.

Reidsville (11-0) features dynamic junior QB Dionte Neal, who came close to a school record last week in the playoff opener with 381 yards passing on an 18-of-23 night. Kendon Doe still has the record with 385 yards passing against Western Alamance in 2003. Rams have great receivers in Cam'Ron Jones, Kendre Harrison, Johnniyus Sharpe, Jukhari Pinnix and Frankie Galloway. They survived without injured all-star RB Jariel Cobb, who set school record this season with 10.7 yards per carry. He ended the season with 1524 yards. Freshman Kasean Henry emerged from nowhere with 116 yards and 2 TDs on 12 carries. Much of the credit goes to the offensive line.

Reidsville's defense, which has been often burned by opponents running the ball, will have to contend with East Rutherford junior Brandon Pinkerton, who is averaging 166.4 yards per game. He has 1664 yards and 28 TDs on the ground and is also a receiving target with 16 receptions and 4 TDs. Junior QB Landon Flynn has competed 102 of 178 passes for 1805 yards.

Worthless common opponent comparison is R-S Central. ER Cavaliers defeated R-S Central 57-26 on Nov. 1 and Reidsville beat R-S Central 56-22 last week in the playoff opener.

East Rutherford is 7-3 with five straight wins. Cavaliers' last loss was in late September to Brevard, 24-21. Brevard is 8-2 heading into a second-round game at Bunker Hill (9-2) this Friday.

I may be totally wrong because I haven’t seen either team but this feels like a trap game for Reidsville. It is incredible what ER has done considering just 2 years ago they only played a JV schedule. It turned out to be the right call for the program. I’ll have my eye on this game Friday

Defintley a stern test for the rams. Can't have a bunch of penalties and blown assignments this week

Can we call East Rutherford Forest City High?

In the 2-A bracket, we've still got East Duplin, Eastern Wayne and East Surry along with East Rutherford in the final 32.
GO EAST!

And not to be confused even more, we've got these other compass point schools still going : West Stokes, West Craven, Northeastern, Southeast Alamance, FarmVille Central and Green Central. Why not King, Vanceboro, Elizabeth City, Haw River, FarmVille and Snow Hill???

There's something about having the traditional city names in the 2-A bracket: Princeton, Kinston, Monroe, Maiden, Shelby, Whiteville and Reidsville.

Sorry that I've been flogging this dead horse for too many years. I still like to see the reactions.

Should be a win for the rams but however I will say to Reidsville, do not take this game lightly East Rutherford is a fast scoring offense and a stout defense, so don't take them lightly. Rams by 14

Very interesting post, now could you give us a breakdown of the County named schools left and their respective county seat in those districts 🤔.

It's impressive to see how freshman Kasean Henry stepped up in Cobb's absence, which speaks to the depth and resilience of the Rams' offense. I wonder how Reidsville's defense will adapt to contain Pinkerton, especially since they've had issues with run defense in the past.

If the rams can survive this game then some of the other running backs maybe back.

updates here (hopefully) .. depends on internet access

Well so far I was dead wrong

Reidsville cant stop a nose bleed against the run,,if east runs it on first dive instead of trying a pass around the 15 its 14-0

Neal is continuing to look dead at and throw to 0 every play and hes tripled coovered....

Losing cobb hurt

Neal will have to put this team on his back rest of game..... He is special

I was expecting more of a 14-14 score by now

Not a bit surprised, ER is a well coached and very physical squad. They looked way better in person than in film last week. We hit them hard and gave them a tight game, I think that opened their eyes up and made them tougher tonight. #21 at RB is the real deal, he'll be a beast next year. 2nd half will be a great test for Reidsville, they gotta wake up, they are playing very lethargic.

East Rutherford 0 14
Reidsville 0 0

ER - Brandon Pinkerton 35 run (Ian Queen kick), 10:22 second quarter
ER - Blake McClellan 11 run (Queen kick), 0:28 second quarter
