East Carteret wins opener

East defeated West Carteret 78-39. The football players had one practice before this game but played well.
East will probably take some early season hits but come 1-A time they should be in the mix. Their schedule this year is brutal. Coach Anderson wants to test them early and this schedule should do it.
In the NC Preps pre-season polls East will face in 2-A @#6 Northside -Jacksonville and maybe #10 Kinston. In 3-A# 8 West Brunswick And two or three games against #10 Havelock. In 4-A they will face #9 New Hanover and @ #10 Hoggard.

East gets blasted at Northside-Jacksonville 81-55.

East rebounds with a win at Croatan 63-22.
This was a nice win but some work still to be done.

East has won their last two games @West Carteret 61-52 and Croatan home 76-26.East big games the next two weeks starting with conference foe Southside then undefeated Havelock.

Mariners defeat Southside 86-47. East takes a big step up Thursday when Havelock comes in with Kyran Bowman and his 27ppg. There should be a full house for this one.
