How overrated EL is.... Exactly how overrated are they?? I have seen both teams play and I can tell you after seeing what the ACR QB did to your Shelby defense, EL would have no problem scoring over and over and over again. Also, I watched the KM team pretty much stifle the Shelby offense for close to 3 quarters. EL may be a lil low on players but with the Surrat boys playing both ways on certain downs along with the rest of their D, it would make it tough. Those passing numbers that Shelby puts up look great on paper, but they are 90% after the catch from what I have seen and can be slowed down.

I think that Shelby has a great team with all those recruits they reload with every year and I believe they would beat EL.... This year. But if you think that it would be a blowout and EL would be Embarressed, you are mistaken. Also, EL would have smoked Shelby last year, you are lucky y'all did not meet.

2nd all the recruits?....Shelby has 2 Camp from East Rutherford, and BJ Hopper from Burns. So not sure where your comming from or going with that bro...
Your right Ac did run around on our D,but they have on everybody Else too...They would do worse against East,ive seen East play too....
As far as KM, bad weather,not sure it was Km D.that did anything to our offense, Qbs throws were off all nite...he was only got two twice in whole game, Lee had terrible night...but hats off to Km,there a good team...
We will keep playing 1 game at a time...
And we still have plenty to work on

East Lincoln is very much overrated, in my opinion. They haven't played anyone and struggled mightily w/ Forsstview. We would have smoked them last year just like we would do it this year .

Last year, we had one of the best running backs in the state, and several kids, defensively, who went on to play college ball, including an all state linebacker who is now at Gardner Webb, and an all state corner who plays with Southern University now. Our D was hell! East Lincoln were the lucky ones, believe that. Lastly, just like last year, we're one of the best 3a teams in the state, let alone 2A. Respect us or schedule us.

East Lincoln is ranked #1 in the 2A AP Poll for a reason...they haven't lost in 2014 or 2015. Wish the NCHSAA would go back to just one state champion for each division, or split into 6 divisions permanently, but that's a different discussion.

Shelby has been explosive this season. We have the most injuries I can ever remember in one half of a season. Friday night we had 9 players out that started in Week 1 or 2; 3 on offense, 5 on defense, and 1 on special teams. I'd love to get those players back soon and wish them the best in their recoveries (#2, #3, #7, #10, #30, #41, #54, # 62, #81)....

Classy post, man, almost makes me feel somewhat guilty, but everyone is entitled to their opinion, and as my man, 98 state champion, has so eloquently stated it on numerous occasions, this site is called "Rivals", so this kind of banter comes along w/ this type of forum. However, it's always those clowns outside of the mentioned programs that get people riled up, the same clowns who don't even own up to a team, but claim many.

Shelby lost by 7 to the second best team in the state last year Crest. Are you serious??? Shelby's achilles this year is the kicking game not the defense.

Mallard Creek then Crest IMO. I haven't thrown off on the Mustangs. I think Coach Byus has turned that program into a top flight program. But the fact is they haven't played no where near the teams Shelby has and that cannot be denied. I hope Shelby does go 2aa, so this hypothetical match up can be put to rest.

Both teams are great teams and full of athletes. It would be a great game to watch. Also every year is different, so if they face off this year it doesn't mean anything about years in the past or future. I'm sure the game won't happen, but its nice to dream and act like we know what would happen if it did.
