And hats off to the guy controlling the music after Friday nights game against Bunker Hill 😂. They let off fireworks last year like they won Superbowl 😂. Well since Catawba county doesn't allow fireworks on school property, so they played fireworks by Katy Perry over sound system 😂

But I will give coach Byrne credit on here. The game ended with maiden up 28-0 and having the ball on bunker hills 4 yard line with a 1:30 left. We know what Bunker hill would of done in that situation. Hell I know what all is die hard devil's wanted to do. But coach byrne used it to teach a lesson. Winning teams with real tradition win with class. And that class is what sets us above other teams who get flash in the pan success and drunk off of it

I wasn't at the Game but I will say this. Be careful with rubbing in it on another team like that!! In my high school days we had a huge rivalry with Owen!! Now this didn't end with fireworks or anything but they showed up to one of our basketball games chanting, yelling, and rubbing it in that they had beaten us, and this was the 2nd year in a row they got us!! The following year they played us at home and we won 41-0 or something so my point is simply this....What goes around comes around and that is simply true in sports at any level.

And no matter what went down during the game or after you condone the bad behavior on both sides clean it up the best you can and learn from these experiences!! My uncles played for Tom Brown at Maiden in the 70s and hearing the stories about him I can truly say that no matter what he would have been a true sportsman regardless of your feelings towards him!! I don't particularly care for Maiden football but they won the game fair and square and I would hope fans would look to the example that Tom Brown always set for himself and his program!!

You know having been to games in the Hickory metro area I can truly say that NC has one of the best places to watch a game!! Maiden and Bunker Hill both have great GameDay atmospheres and are both great places to watch and enjoy games!!!

Bandys Trojans finally get over .500 mark in conference, but Bunker is on the horizon so short lived. However, they do have a chance to finish over .500 overall.
Bunker Hill I guess the Devils are truly not very good in all areas.

Wolves as I said they could run the table and I have to pick them (although I think Maiden will win). Sorry!

Cheerduck, that was a before picture. For the past year he's been on a strict diet and workout routine. Now that he's back down to his playing weight he is definitely feeling stout. Sent me a text the other day saying he felt like he could take me with little effort. I explained to him that I'm a decrepit old man, forty years his senior, to which he told me that was nothing but an excuse. Here's the after and current photo of him acting up:

2 games and it’s done. Wow, I can’t even believe it.
I’m upset with myself cause I can be on top of the pick ems’ but for whatever reason I picked Newton over East Rutherford. These picks this week are pretty easy but that Lincolnton game whew, I don’t know. But with how they handled BH I got a good feeling

Bandys over West Caldwell- might be a game for 3 quarters, West showed some aggression against West Lincoln

Bunker Hill over Newton Conover- long as they have Willis running


West Lincoln over EB- discouraging season as I’m sure there may be more. Middle school tallent too far out and even that may not amount to be a thing 2 to 3 years from now.

Boom Devils over Ltown- game of the week by far, and I mean FAR. Lincolnton on a new gear, Maiden with slightly higher mo Jo since the WL upset. Could go either way but I’m leaning toward the big dogs that know how to play, just had an off night with WL.

CVACers I have a plan for the pick ems that we do. There has to be a prize. I was thinking about this the other night. Light bulb came on. I’ll think of something and I may even be the one giving it unless one of yall wanna do it. Here it is—

Since we don’t give identities and protect them, I thought about that store out at Startown were if your coming from Hickory you get off that ext, take left then that store is out there that you’d take a right at to go toward Maiden. I leave, or Grizz or Maiden Creek or someone an envelope with the store. It could have a gift cert, no cash or something someone could steal. I or whoever tell the store what we got going on and to leave ncprep user name on envelop and winner come to the store tell the clear user name and he or she hands you the prize. It don’t even have to be that store I just thought good central location type place. What y’all think?
