I'm planning on BH vs CSD, 25 minutes from my workAnybody going to brave the rain tonight for any games
I’ll be at Monroe tonight. Might come to Maiden if they play it on Saturday.Anybody going to brave the rain tonight for any games
I'll be there, let me know if you show upI'm really tempted to go check out Davidson pick your players school. But I really do hate getting wet
Man - I appreciate the humor but, it’s nearly impossible to get into CSD. We get 3000 applicants every year and only about 20 get in. The state runs the lottery - we have zero control. You could move to the parking lot or CSD and still not go to school there. On the flip side with public schools - if I want my son to play football somewhere, all I have to do is get a cheap ass apt and a piece of mail and boom - he plays football. Or move to the area I want him to go to school. It’s just not as some people make it out to be but that’s ok - it’s different and I understand. We play with who we have at the school, which is only 500 total students….I'm really tempted to go check out Davidson pick your players school. But I really do hate getting wet

It is an insane rivalry - very fun.I know I don’t get out much….but I had no idea that CSD and PLP are so close together.
They’re just a long par 5 apart with a county line running through the middle of it.
That must be one heck of a rivalry.
I work with a PLP father...he gets worked up some I tell yaIt is an insane rivalry - very fun.
I doubt they have anyone from Ashe CountyI'm really tempted to go check out Davidson pick your players school. But I really do hate getting wet
😂😂😂😂😂I doubt they have anyone from Ashe County
First of all - I agree with state can’t run anything, in its general form. Addressing lottery order:"The state runs the lottery - we have zero control"
Imagine thinking any school "lottery" isn't pay to play first, then "quota" admissions, then actual lottery...furthermore, imagine thinking the state handles anything remotely correct...
You're hilarious...I love it. I wanna shake your hand. I'm excited to see yalls passing game, well whatever passing game anyone could have in a monsoon
You just worry about the whooping you about to get in CLTI doubt they have anyone from Ashe County
Just the same kinda shot we take from "recruiting". Welcome to the club.First of all - I agree with state can’t run anything, in its general form. Addressing lottery order:
Pay to play - haha, not sure what you’re insinuating but the state allows for children who have a parent employed at the school to get in automatically - yes. But, we are a small school - not a ton going on there. Quota attainment - we do have a free and reduced lunch quota we can hit for allotments. The problem: we live in Davidson, not sure if you’re familiar but it’s the highest per sq ft township to live in the entire state. So not too many of those. Then yes, the rest of the lottery, run by the state and computer - zero control from charter school. I’m not assuming anything here - these are facts buddy!
All that said - would love to shake your hand too brother.
100%! With ya on that one. The ole saying goes: they hate us cause they ain’t usJust the same kinda shot we take from "recruiting". Welcome to the club.
We're hated enough that even the tiniest sliver of evidence would be used against us. If we had anything illegal happening everyone would know...hell, there are people in Maiden that'd love to see us fall...but when you're successful, people come at you
Oh, good grief. Logging off now. I'm gonna throw up.🤢100%! With ya on that one. The ole saying goes: they hate us cause they ain’t us
Hahaha! I was using that as a general term - not specific to us, by no means.Oh, good grief. Logging off now. I'm gonna throw up.🤢
I have a good friend who helps Coach over at West Charlotte. He says they’re pretty daggum good.I doubt they have anyone from Ashe County
Yep they play in a brutal conference.I have a good friend who helps Coach over at West Charlotte. He says they’re pretty daggum good.
I’ll be pulling hard for the Brushy Mountain boys….you can bank on that. 😉
Ran the score up? We were in a one score game at halftime. Further - we needed every bit of that win because CTK was 7-1 at the time - but, at no point did we run the score up. They were down 35 with 2 mins in game and were throwing the ball. Qb literally threw it right to our OLB 20 yards walk in. Should have just ran the clock out - they weren’t going to win. Secondly, our starters only played in 3 full games during regular season. Our freshman/sophomores played in many 2nd halves. Once the clock is running - our starters always come out. We could have put 80 up many times this year and chose not to. We don’t run the score up - ever. One of the reasons I’m looking for the Community School of Davidson to lose to the Community School of Claremont Is because they ran the score up on Christ the King. If anyone wonders if I’m insinuating divine intervention, why yes, I am.
Postscript: While you’re helping out with football down here, could you maybe give us a hand with Monroe, cause last time I checked, the spread was really bad (for us). I know you weren’t too happy about the Bandys game but they were cheapshoting us, something awful. 🙏
He was making a joke that you were beating up on Christ unnecessarily... @Lincolnton is the kindest soul on this site...can get ornery twice a season...but a finer soul than the rest.Ran the score up? Why did you guys get moved up to 2A if you only have 500 students? Just curious.Man - I appreciate the humor but, it’s nearly impossible to get into CSD. Because of our Wells Fargo cup winning %Why did you guys get moved up to 2A if you only have 500 students? Just curious.
Ah shoot - right over my head. I said many Hail Mary’s that evening for forgiveness. He was making a joke that you were beating up on Christ unnecessarily... @Lincolnton is the kindest soul on this site...can get ornery twice a season...but a finer soul than the rest.
That’s all we have at Polk this year is a little over 530 (what I was told) but that STUPID Wells Fargo cup stuff stuck us in 2a alsoWhy did you guys get moved up to 2A if you only have 500 students? Just curious.
I think ADMs count for 50% 25% has to do with free lunch and 25% has to do with wells fargo cup.Wells Fargo Cup decides which class you’re in? That’s about par for the course for the NCHSAA.
We have a kid who used to play for Ashe County but his family decided to move to maiden because they thought it was a great community that was up and coming. Even Microsoft thinks we are a great community they're going to be able to Data center here along with apples. We're just a community that everybody wants to be a part of and join 😂I doubt they have anyone from Ashe County
Divisions should be decided by ADM’S only. What in the hell does free lunch have to do with anything sports related? I can understand (somewhat) the Wells Fargo stuff but not lunches.I think ADMs count for 50% 25% has to do with free lunch and 25% has to do with wells fargo cup.
Watch those B12 vitamin shots. You could overdose if you've not been eating well lately. Rowdy and I could come over this evening and tailgate in your living room as you follow the game.GrizzlyDevil, Thank you for the kindness, I wish I could live up to that but it take guys like you to tolerate guys like me. Thanks again. sorry it took me this long to get back to you. Was at the doctors office.
Sportsguy 5555, GDevil was right, it was a joke. Saw where CSD was up 35-7 and scored twice in the fourth quarter, but you answered that.
Have to confess something to you, though. I made that silly post after your post #90 tweaked a nerve with me. Just thought you might be assuming too much, and after you tossed out a stat which I thought might have less to with things than, some others statistics.
Postscript: …And Lord, help us to play like the Community School of Maiden and the Community school of Lawndale, tonight, as we'll need it.
Oh, and thank you for vitamin B12shots. Makes me feel like I'm 55, again.
