Why do you wait till 6 to open the gates for a 7 o'clock kick? Usually places give you 1 hour and half before kick and that's with a regular game. This game will have a monster crowd and on top of that you are sending everyone thru metal detectors. Need the Charger faithful to get there early and often. Get the visitor stands full as soon as possible.
This doesn't make sense to me either. People show up at 6:30 might miss the 1st quarter.
Went there last year and will say it's a very slow process to get in. Got there before the game started and almost missed the entire 1st qt. Be there early for sure.
If I had to bet on either one last year head to head....definitely would have bet on Crest.
With that said - they've got the same crew plus some new ones and yall have a lot of new faces playing (including the new ones). Last year would've been a much safer bet to take Crest even though Crest has a chance this year, too.
I'm sick of this. Is there not one Hickory fan that isn't scared absolutely to death that will get on here and go back and forth. Or are you waiting on the outcome before coming on here?

3. I hear the one fan that has testicles say they'll beat us by 14. They might. But, why do they think that?

I see Hickory and Dudley in the west finals but I think Crest has a shot at taking down Hickory.
Hard to believe, but the last time these 2 teams got together was 2004. Crest won that one 34-17. Seems like these 2 programs should play more often.
I don't get this argument. Watching them every week, we are a better overall team right now than we were last year. We are absolutely missing those 3 WR we had last year, but we couldn't stop anybody. This defense is night and day better than last years. Last year we had a shootout every week and just hope we just outscored everybody.

Many from that area was in thread stating that their conference was the strongest in 3A. So they feel they are battle tested. Top to bottom, I bet on the big south conference against theirs.
Pulling for CREST. I would love to see Coach Greg win at Hickory. Then go ahead and win it all in his first year back at CREST!
It seem like playoffs use to be at 7:30. This gives time for teams to travel. When did they go 7. I agree they should open gates 1 hr 1/2 before kickoff time.

The defense is better without question. Your offense is definitely worse without question. Besides the Xs and Os that changed drastically, the philosophy definitely changed too.
Part of the reason it appeared you had that trouble on defense was BECAUSE of how good the offense was. They scored quickly, often and pretty much whenever they wanted til that last game against Dudley.

I know that our conference was tougher than theirs, so I would like to have you all prove it. If not - the only thing you will have to look forward to is mustard biscuits and french fried potaters for the next 7-8 months til somebody let's yall out of the back room again.

And to lose all that offensive talent and still playing Thanksgiving week , 2 plays away from undefeated regular season . All we heard was how down this Crest team would be , we will go to Hickory and give it the best shot we got , heck we may not need to show up according to everyone that’s not Crest
This team is not afraid of the moment , these kids have played in big games and packed stadiums , let’s roll the pigskin out and see what happens.

Yeah...congrats. I don't know who said yall were down...I fully expected SP and Crest to fight it out this year and next for the conf. championship.

We can best this or best that all we want but both teams are playing on Black Friday and that alone speaks volumes. Work has been slamming us this week so I have been way behind. If Crest can run the ball on Hickory they WILL be in this game and very well may win it. The team that can run the ball wins this game period. Forcing the air attack on either is flat out dangerous because they both will be going against speed in the secondary. Stober has been here before and Hamrick hasn't. The younger QB will have to make smart decisions if they get behind the chains. The atmosphere will be wild.

I’m not Crest but I’ve been saying it before this week that Crest can beat Hickory. It doesn’t matter how great your offense is, if you have trouble against the run you’re in jeopardy of losing at some point in the playoffs. Look at what just happened to Reidsville. The margin of Hickory’s wins doesn’t tell you what film does. Not only do they have trouble against the run but they struggle getting pressure. It’s really because they run a 3 man front and if you run a 3 man front on defense you need a dominant NG/DT which they do not have.
This game will come down to game planning, play calls, adjustments and mistakes.
With all of the hype and posting around this game I may consider making the drive instead of going down the street to see Robinson vs Dudley.

No doubt this is the game of the week. I was thinking about the RB for Hickory reminds me somewhat of Earle Campbell. Both with number 34 and same height at 5’ 11. I hate to miss this due to other obligations. But can’t wait hear the results.
This is definitely drawing a bigger crowd and more hype than NL/Ashbrook. But rest assured they’ll be a butt in every square inch in the dungeon this Friday especially all the Lincoln co schools already out of it and curious Gaston co fans, and SP folks, GET THERE EARLY

Yes you will. Hickory is a team that can play in a 1A mountain conf and still show up for the big boys in the playoffs. That’s what’s scary. Talk about strength of schedule, maybe but we’ll find out real soon.
Here’s the million buck question- who had it better- Hickory 1996 or Hickory 2024? I wouldn’t doubt there’s a son on this team that had a dad on that team. At least one lol
I saw the 96 team quite a few times. Michael Collins and Ty Hunt were 2 of the best players I've seen. Hard to believe 23 or 24 could be better. Maybe some Hickory fans could share an opinion. As for Friday night I expect a huge line waiting to get in and maybe miss the first quarter. Hopefully their admin will rethink gate opening.
