Crest @ Hickory

Hickory has also played some Cupcakes too, 7 of their 12 games have been against teams 4 wins or less. 6 of those 7 wins was against teams with 1 or 2 wins. Hibriten 2-7, Newton Conover 2-7, Cox Mills 2-9, N. Iredell 2-8, W. Iredell 2-8, Foard 1-9. Good Grief they might as well be playing Saint Agnus Sisters of The Poor!!! lol
They have to play who’s on the schedule. I’m sure they didn’t plan for all those teams to suck.

But. They are the defending State champions. They haven’t lost a game in a long time. Their respect is earned.

With that said. Win or lose. Crest isn’t a cupcake. Period.

They're expecting alot of Shelby fans to show up. I heard you CC fans can detect each other by scent.

Shelby Lion you are banned form responding to my post.
My feelings after my banning from this thread :(

Trying to decide if I make the trek to hickory or North Lincoln this week
Hey man, if you go holler at me. So far I’ve met Lincolnton and Beamer and one other one I think it was Cheerduck at the EB EL game of 2015. All your years of good post it’s time to shake some hands and talk. Maiden fans are good fans.

If NL didn’t have their best team yet or 2nd best team (2019 team was tight too) and possibly make history and get to 4th round I’d be at the Hickory Credt slug feast.

My thoughts are if Crest can throw off Stober and get tighter coverage on their WR1, Crest takes this one by a 1 score thriller. The boys in Green Bay colors will be the toughest yet

i know nothing of Crest but Hickory hasn’t really played anyone this year that can pass the ball. They played a real weak schedule. Conference was super weak. Statesville gave them there best game in regular season but Statesville wasn’t any good either one of the worst offenses I’ve ever seen from them. I mean Fred T Foard held Statesville to 180 yds total offense 😂. It will be interesting to see how they do against a formidable offense. Hickory offense is the real deal very impressive. It’s definitely good enough to win the ship. I’m just curious how they will do against a team that can run and pass.
This raises concerns about how Hickory's defense might perform against a team with a dual-threat capability. On the flip side, Hickory's offense has indeed been impressive, and if they can continue to execute at a high level, they could definitely make a deep playoff run.

What is their winning streak now 26? 27 games? How does that rank all time in nc? Obviously independence had that freak 109 or whatever it was

I think mount airy has won like 40 something in a row

I know West Rowan won the 3A State titles from 2008-2010 and then lost in the State title of 2011. They had 46 straight wins without losing a game.

Albemarle won 56 or 57 in a row I believe without checking... Thomasville had 40 some and would have been 60 some from 2004-08 if Jordan Matthew's didn't upset them in the 2007 playoffs.

Indy is the longest public school streak ever and De La Salle has the longest private and overall streak at 151

Crest should be clearly the best team Hickory has faced both offensively and defensively. I also think Crest is playing their best football of the year right now so the question to be answered is...
Is that enough to beat a good Hickory team. I saw in the Hickory/NL stats the Hickory QB was 23 of 25 for 383 yards.

I haven't watched any film of them yet. Was curious if the 23/25 were passes around the LOS and the receivers making plays or if the 23/25 is throwing the ball 10+ yards down the field?

Didn’t NL have a ton of turnovers against Hickory ?

They don't dink and dunk. They have 3 different receivers with good hands. I think it's # 2, 3, and 13.
