There has been a shortage of refs.
That is one reason the game could have been played on a Thursday.
Also, games have been moved for TV reasons. Not sure if the game was televised.

Monday there was a chance of rain in the forecast for later Friday evening. Maybe wanted to make sure they got the game in and didn't want to play on Saturday or next Monday.

I watched them against EF. NCHSAA does them no favors keeping them in 4A. They'd be better served 2A or below with numbers. They've vastly improved the culture there and Sharpe is a good people.
