Whos ready for some Black Friday Football.....Clinton will host The Vikings from South Granville who won a nail biter against SW Edgecombe 24-20......From what i see from the Vikings dont look like a bad team played in conference with Roanoke Rapids and Bunn played both of those teams tough losing 27-26 and 9-3 respectively so not a team to take lightly.......Clinton will look to bounce back from a lackluster performance by our standards.....Dont know what the situation will be with starting Fullback Jaylen Smith but he has to remember he is a student-athlete student comes first handle business in the classroom cant make those types of mistakes this late in the season....i understand 15,16 year old kids make stupid choices at times but cant put your teammates in that type of situation......Hopefully that was a wake up call for the whole team cant afford to be complacent this late in the season......i believe we bounce back and defeat the Vikings by 2-3 scores 42-20

The Vikings ground game is pretty solid, as is their passing game. Their QB, Tucker Brown, has passed for over 1,200 yards and is also their leading rusher with nearly 800 yards. Clinton will definitely have to play assignment football. In the end, I think the Horses will be too powerful for the Vikings to contain.....Clinton 35-14.

Offensive set they run a pretty balanced offense out of the flexbone

Defense runs 4-3

Like Football Fanactic said QB can run and throw defense will have to be very discpline

Read a article on the SW Edgecombe and South Granville game turnovers killed SWE....they had the ball on SG's 5 yard line with 1:30 left and fumbled it away.....SG marched 88 yards and scored the game winning TD.......ball security will be key cant have those turnovers that have plagued us these last couple weeks

QB/DB #2 Kris Williams having a all state year in that defensive secondary with 10 interceptions....i know NC Preps got rid of the all state teams for each classification(bad decision) but he would definitely have my vote

This is off subject, but do you think they will replace the home stands at Dark Horse Stadium in the future? That concrete is not going to last forever, and I know there are cracks in the press box. Also the stands need to be more accessible for the disabled.

Idk im sure its on the to do list....last couple years they have re done the concession stands and bathrooms,new goal post etc.....that concrete gets cold this time of year glad i got one of those stadium seats

And I forgot that a new sound system is needed. Last week the PA seemed to be shorting out on several occasions. Other than that, the stadium is among the best in the state. If I had the money to donate, I would donate enough to replace the stands, replace the track with a rubberized one, and although the scoreboard is new, replace it with a scoreboard with a video board lol!

Looking at South Granville on hudl the QB likes to keep it alot may have to play Skinner on defense again to help negate some of that.....also looks like they have some RPOs(Run pass option)

With us being thin at DB i actually hope Bunn beats NSJax i dont think Warren or the jv kid can match up one on one with #5 from Northside who #8 Smith defended in our earlier match up.........but of course we need to take care of business Friday first be 1-0....then worry bout that

Actually I think the home side stands are pretty nice and roomy. Concrete lasting forever don't know about that but I'm certain if there was any danger it would have been addressed already. Over the past 32 years there have been many improvements to the stadium. There is a handicap ramp and platform. As a person who was very involved in the building of DsrkHorse Stadium I know the difficulties and hardships and $$$$$$ needed. Since you mentioned it maybe you should head up a effort to get it done ! Good luck!
Note: not bragging but I've been in probably well over a hundred high school stadiums. Though not perfect it's better than over 95% of the ones I've been in but if there's a source of $$$$$$ I'm sure it can be made better!

A new sound system is set to be installed at the end of the season with an additional speaker facing the concession stand for those working it. I'm sure replacing the bleecheds is a Looooong way off and honestly may not be something we want because we will likely get stuck with aluminum ones that don't go as high up and seating capacity would probably be reduced. Our visitor bleachers are way to low down already. Top row is barely over the crown. Home side is an awesome view.

I think DarkHorse Stadiums's visitor side is excellent in fact other than some 4A schools or municipal stadiums I know of none better. They're longer than the home side . I also think the height is very adequate . When we built the stadium it was a hole there where they scooped the dirt/doom for the turtleneck crown on the playing field..We decided that wasn't good enough and proceed to build that area up 5 feet. We borrowed every dump truck we could get here and we hauled several hundred dump truck loads there to build it up.We got the dirt from a area known as "the moon" off Beula Road. When we got discouraged on how far a single dump truck load would go we were given the services of a sanitation company who came with their tandem dump truck which equaled 3 1/2 normal trucks and we were cooking with gas then!. I.could tell you some tells about the construction of DarkHorse Stadium.

Saw Clinton go down to Wallace and handle business. This Dark Horse team is the best high school team I have seen since the 2007 JK Tigers. Clinton is gonna win this one no problem. I have a lot of respect for Coach Lewis. I hope they can go hand it to Shelby where the sun dont shine in December.
