That had to have been the worst field I have ever watched a game being played. It's a shame a team makes it to the 3rd round and has to play on that crap. Oh and the visitors side gate was closed so everyone had to walk all the way around. Teams played hard but the better team won. Play that game on a normal field and it would've been by more.
great ballgame, a real slobber knocker. It's what we call smashmouth football. A field position defensive game. I was told postgame that Clinton held Andrews to 136 yards total offense and 71 of it was on a pass in which they scored If this is true great defensive stand by the DarkHorses. But the Red Raiders didn't do to bad of job defensively themselves holding the DarkHorses to just 14 points. Still I think the DarkHorses were able to control the ball moving it and maintaining possession. The DarkHorses maintained possession of the ball just about the whole 2nd qtr on a 91 yard scoring drive. Not sure of Clinton's yardage but it seemed they were able to move the ball and maintain possession of the ball. Special teams play tonight was excellent and in a field position game special teams play is at a premium. I thought our coaching staff did a excellent job preparing the team for this game and not allowing them to panic which would have been easy for our young team. I won't elaborate on the horrible field conditions other than to say with that nice of a facility with that much play and located in a bowl, High Point should seriously consider installing artificial turf. Alott of the western mountain schools have made the investment. It would be a wonderful facility if so

What are Clinton's thoughts about the stadium itself? I hear the field was a mess but as far as the stadium, what did you think? Had this conversation earlier and I quipped that Clinton may be able to fill a corner. Not as a knock on the fans, but just saying that Clinton, just like us, come from a small town where high school stadiums of that size are clearly not needed.
The stadium itself was nice. Their fans both before and after the game were very hospitable. That stadium and its configuration was top notch. The field turf was atrocious . I would compare it to a hog pen. That being said this was not HPA's fault. They had to play in it too but with that many teams playing on that field and with the way the field is located they i seriously need to consider s artificial surface. With that I would recommend it along with Elon hosting Stste championship games!
