Well I guess I'll get it started....first meeting between these two powers I don't know too much about HPA but they are 12-1 and a top 5 ranked team in 2A so they are really good....For Clinton we have a long rode trip Friday thankfully its Thanksgiving week so no school Friday they probably can leave earlier then normal so the kids have plenty of time to loosen up after the long Bus ride.....Im going to be blunt we will need to play a perfect game and hope that HPA makes some mistakes. We live and die with the play of our offensive line the boys came up big against a HUGE defensive line last night they will have to do the same come Friday.Defensively just gotta play tough stick to the assignments and make the play they have some athletes they have speed gotta have everyone getting to the football force mistakes.....Also think Lewis has to throw something at them they are not ready for something he has been saving all year I'm pretty sure like every team they are going to throw 8-9 men in the box and dare us to pass.....As hard as its going to be the team needs to have a really great focused week of practice which is going to be hard with it being Thanksgiving but seniors gotta step up keep everyone focused......sad I won't be able to make this game but I'll be listening to DH04 call it.....Clinton pulls off a upset in a shootout Clinton 36 HPA 35

Darkhorse34, I think you're getting hung up on perfection. The DarkHorses' won't play a perfect game and will not need to. They just need to bring their game which I fully expect a Bob Lewis coached team to do.The Dark Horses' are much better than the Northside team Andrews defeated last night. Offensively the DarkHorses' present a number of problems including the passing game. The DarkHorse defense has played tremdous all season long. Nothing for the DarkHorses to be scared about going to HP Andrews, but most assuredly HP should be respected. This is a 3rd round game against two top ten ranked teams. Should be a good one!

Not a perfect game but something like the Wallace game from last year or the EB game from earlier this year where it just seemed like we were hitting on all cylinders

Andrews 38 Cllinton 7, You talk about big defense line , wait and see Andrews. All I can tell is you better Pass, because you want be able to run.

You are gonna miss a good game in a beautiful venue. City owned stadium, way too large for any of us country schools east of 95, but perfect for the urban area of the triad. Could be slightly intimidating for the inexperienced, but shouldn't be a problem for a team that has had its share of playing in large stadiums for championships. I hate that you will miss this one, not only for the ambiance, but for the product on the field as well. I would make the trip myself to watch two very good teams play in a small college sized stadium if we didn't have our own little thing going on.

HARRYT, that's just not going to happen. It won't be a route by either team. So the DarkHorses won't be able to run? That's interesting. I won't argue the point but just remember speed kills. Looking forward to a very good game.

You have never played us before, so you need to ask other teams in the east how fast we are.

HarryT. Watched you on hudl this morning. Wallace Rose Hill has more speed than your team and its not really close. You're a bigger team but Clinton has faced faster teams. Take your blinders off brother. Home field will be an advantage but other than that this game will be a toss up. Saying 35-7 is just asinine.

Andrews is speedy too. At least they were when we played them two seasons ago. Long time ago, yeah, but I can't imagine them having concrete feet now. Andrews will be bigger, but they have to keep in mind that Clinton is a championship team. HarryT, don't take them lightly. I think this game comes down to conditioning. Who will and won't be worn down at the end?

HPA isn't the only fast team in the state, u know. What is it with Piedmont and western teams thinking that teams in the east are just so much more smaller, slower, and weaker than their teams?

Guys, please take Harry for what he is. He is our version of SWO's Ninja. Good guy, means well and supports our team but he predicts us to beat everybody big. It simply doesn't work that way. We run the wing t with a stable of backs that compliment each other nicely. Some are jitter bugs, some will run you over, some have a nice combination of both. We have decent size on the lines and overall great team speed. Although not as fast as we were in 2013 when we won a title, we still will be faster than most anybody you play. I said before the season that we were a top 10 team in the state but I didn't think our QB play/ability to pass the ball would allow us to win a state title. I hope our kids prove me wrong. I expect a tough, hard fought game against the dark horses. 2 marquee/historical programs in the state battling it out as they should. I think this one is a toss up and in my opinion the winner of this game is the best 2A team in the east, both A and AA. I greatly respect Clintons program and their staff and hope you guys enjoy your trip to High Point. We are both used to being here on thanksgiving weekend so it's all love and respect from red raider nation. The best team on Friday night will win.

Let me know if anybody needs restaurant recommendations before the game. Be glad to help in any way I can as I know it's a long trip.

Wow tell me this guy is joking right...... Your not 35 points better than us no way...I give credit where credit is due but no way buddy not even on a bad night

I think Clinton is the favorite in this one. Skinner is amazing and they are well coached. Hopefully Andrews hangs around long enough to pull the upset.

GoNtheDistance, I appreciate and agree with your long post above, but seriously I think there is no favorite in this game. May need some help in restaurant location, any local places good besides the chain places. Never been to it sn't it Simeon Stadium. I've checked and yes it is.
Nice stadium , interestingly this stadium is named after one of Clinton City School former (1980's) superintendent Jim Simeon's Father.
Nice stadium.

Guys, I just want to echo what Distance said above. HarryT is a great guy and is a passionate supporter of all things Andrews but understand that he speaks for himself, not the Andrews community on the whole. I'm expecting a war, an old fashioned slugfest this week. I would say it's a toss up, with a slight advantage for Andrews because we are at home. If interested, maybe we could all meet up before the game. I like meeting and placing a face to the names on here. Let me know what you think and we could make it happen!

Really wish I could make it but I work Friday don't get off till 6 so I'll just have to listen to it over the radio

Wiz, i would say Clinton IS a better team than Northside. but "much better" as you called it, i wouldnt go that far. i know Clinton has a very good team but Northside is a good team as well.

GoNtheDistance I am no version of Ninga, and you said take Harry for what he is. You don"t know me and I don't want to Know You !!!

I clearly said you were surely a good guy and a strong supporter of andrews, however, your continued claims that Andrews will win by 30 every game even in the playoffs are unfounded and isn't a good representation of the Andrews fan base as a whole. Too tall said the same. So yes, I stand by the fact that these opposing fans should take you for what you are, an enthusiastic supporter but shortsighted when it comes to the reality and competitive nature of the playoffs. Doesn't make you right or wrong, it is what it is. Keep supporting the Raiders but reel in the ridiculous predictions. I've been around Andrews football since 1972 and can tell you that we respect everyone but fear no one.

I have had a daughter,a son,a grandson, a graddaughter all was in sports at Andrews so you have no more pull than i have. So if you please keep my name out your mouth .

You have never played us before, so you need to ask other teams in the east how fast we are.
Steve HPA IS VERY GOOD.....It will take a very good team to beat them....they are big and fast.......The Horses can not turn over the ball...have notseen them in person...just on tv highlite shows Best of luck and is a GREAT feeling to be playing on Thanksgiving weekend......might try to take in this game Dave

Harry, you are showing your ignorance. Funny you mention me but not too tall who said the exact same thing about your predictions pal. It's not personal. It's not about you and I or who has pull and who doesn't. I simply said that your continued predictions of 30 point victories are off base, especially when you know nothing about our opponent. That's the fact and if that gets your panties in a wad, then that's on you buddy. Do what you please but I will continue to speak the truth even if that includes letting people know that the Andrews fan base as a whole is not reflective of your opinions on the game. Back to the game....

FYI, the playing surface at Simeon has taken a beating with all the rain and games in the last month. Last night was as bad as I've ever seen it. I'm hoping for a sunny, dry week so both teams can play on a solid track.

All I did was give my opinion on a score , you made yours. I was 20 points off. you gave yours, you were about ten points off. Now I a was Ignorant, and you are so intelligent. You may have went to Duke, but that don't make you know everyting

Harry once again this isn't about you nor I. You predict 30 point victories every week. Like I said, you keep doing you. The point had been made. Do not hijack this thread. Let's talk football. Looking forward to hearing more about Clinton. I know they will be tough as hell.

well I'm not much for score comparisons but 3 weeks ago Northside beat North Brunswick (a playoff team) 14-10, last week the DarkHorses beat North Brunswick 49-18. Maybe my characterization much better was a little "much" but I'm pretty sure Clinton is better than Northside. That being said Nirthside is a good team, playing HP Andrews a 10 point game is well noted. I'm of the biased opinion anytime you're playing anyone from the ECC/Four County area you're in for a ballgame. If you're playing one of the better teams you better be ready

i dont know much about Andrews but i know Bob Lewis coached Clinton teams usually turn it up a gear come playoff time. so win or lose i expect Clinton to put it all on the line. and Wiz you do make a very valid point as far as Clinton beating North Brunswick much worse than Northside. Clinton is clearly the better team.

Dave you've not seen the DarkHorses play. They know that Andrews is a very good team but Andrews can't afford to turn the ball over either. I think the DarkHorses are that very good team. They have nothing to fear, lots to respect. Looking forward to it! Maybe see you there! You're right anyone playing on Thankgiving Friday is having a very good year. When your high school band is playing Christmas music at the game you've had a great year!!!

96Panther, you are so correct about our legendary Coach Bob Lewis. He has always had a way of preparing his teams to peak come playoff time as evidenced by his 6 state championships with 3 different teams. It's been such a privilege to see his teams play over the years!

GoNtheDustance, enjoyed trading post with you.I'm looking forward to a good football game between two really good teams. Hopefully we can meet pre game not sure what time we'll get away and GPS says its 2.5 hour trip so I hope we can get away in plenty of time. Don't worry about Harry, we've had Ninja down here for a few years though we haven't heard from him lately

Don't worry about Ninja. He's polishing the hardwood in Onslow County... and you guys know the transitive property doesn't apply in football, don't you?
