Big rivalry game this upcoming Friday as Clinton travels to Bladen county to take on our rivals from E-Town.....as in previous years this game will go along way to deciding conference champ and is big in regards to playoff seeding. Both teams are coming off huge lopsided wins in their conference openers East Bladen stomped Midway 42-0 Clinton ran thru Pender 50-6....playoff atmosphere Friday night expect a good crowd....after playing all these spread teams we finally get a old school wing t team.....both these teams love to run the ball so this will probably be a quick game...3 yards and a cloud of dust....both teams have the athletes that can make the plays I think it comes down to who's defense can make the big stop......ready for a great game Friday.....Any predictions or comments let's hear it.....

My Prediction Clinton pulls away late to win a hard frought match up 28-14

I think if we can control our kick off coverage and not give up big returns, our defense will be (and has been all year) solid. I put our running game against anyone out there. I give a lot of credit to EB and the Hines boys but think the Dark Horses are too much this year for the Eagles although anything can happen. I just hope we don't come out slow like we have the past couple of games and set the tone. I'm sure Bob Lewis and the coaches will have them ready for this rivalry game.

I would love to know what out turnover differential is so far this season and where we rank.....seems every game so far defense has gotten atleast 3-4 take aways....last game 2 fumbles recovered one for a TD and a INT......and offense does not give it up to often think we lost a fumble to Northside and maybe one to Hoggard cant remember

Yes I like the all whit uniforms as well. Maybe that can be part o their new uniforms next year.

Hearing the all white uniforms may be used against WRH, and the Clinton fans be asked to wear white. It would be cool, hope it happens. Merely speculation, nothing confirmed. Just keep winning baby. Go horses!

A WHITE OUT!!!! Lol i like the sound of that but until then lets handle business Friday Night against EB.....thinking about making the trip to watch this one

I don't think the Eagles can withstand 4 quarters of the Darkhorse running attack. Great rivalry throughout the years... Eagles would have to play a perfect game to beat this year's Clinton team.

EB made some changes to the defense last week which seemed to help as we got the shutout over Midway. EB will have to clean up the TO's and penalties to keep this one close. EB must contain Clinton and limit any and probably all big plays from the Clinton offense. If the bad EB team shows up Friday, it could get ugly quick. I think EB will be ready, though, and give Clinton a good fight. I know Coach Priest isn't looking for any moral victories.

Shrine Biwl is a joke. Great charitable cause but football selection is a joke
I looked at the roster, and only three players are from 2A schools; the rest are from 3A and 4A schools. Twelve are either from Wake or Mecklenburg counties, and only one is from East of I-95.

Does Skinner playing both ways hurt him? Lewis also seems to spread the ball in the offense ... Imagine if Skinner got 25 -30 carries a game. Blowing out their opponents can't help either. Like several you guys mentioned on here about players east of I-95 aren't getting a lot of love. I'm sure these coaches (Shrine Bowl) look at the stats and see that he's not putting up massive numbers. He is a special kid and ashamed he is not playing with the state's best in the Shrine Bowl.

Looking at his body of work he has rushed for 2,000 yards and atleast 20+ TDs the last two years.....Shrine Bowl selection is a joke anyway having combines instead of looking at seniors overall body of work throughout their playing career.....like Wiz said Shrine Bowl is a joke

Yes, Skinner plays both ways, but not all of the time. He played more the past couple of weeks because our main DE Prentice Murphy was out. By putting Skinner in, there was no drop off in speed on the edge. Now that Murphy is back, Skinner can concentrate more on the RB position. You are correct that Clinton has been spoiled by putting teams away early, but we are also so deep at RB that the wealth is being spread, so to speak.

The defense has been lights out. There is no doubt in my mind that the defense (which has only given up 30 points in 5 games) is the reason they are 5-0. Given that the offense is our offense and can score in bunches on anyone and that most starters are subed in starting in the second quarter, I think defensively, Kramer's 49 tackles (17 more than the second most player), K. Williams 4 interceptions (in 5 games) and C. Perry's ability to kick to the end zone are reasons to believe this team is deep enough that adding Murphy will only push this defense over the top. Just sayin'.

The game I saw where ya'll played Hoggard, your defense looked good but not great. Now, being that said your offense looked as good as I've seen it since 2014,but not better. Your offensive line did not look as good as 2014 to me. That line was a beast that year in the dog pound. But, when ya'll have three running backs like ya'll do this year, then ya'll can overcome a lot. If a team can pass some on ya'll and ya'll can't stack the box, then a team like WRH can run the ball on your defense. #4 reminds me of our #4 (Keyshawn) last year in your defensive backfield. He could play a big part in the conference championship game. Just my thoughts.

We actually played better defensively against NS Jax than Hoggard. I know NS scored 16pts vs 7pts that Hoggard did but they (NS) had the ball on the Clinton side of the 50 the entire 3rd Quarter and we gave up ZERO points. I've never seen our defense with our backs up against a wall like that and answer the bell like they did, And Northsides offense was/is way better than Hoggard, Way more athletes, and they threw it around a lot and ran it a bunch too, but they could not do much at all. Just my 2 cents.

A little insight into Ryheem an the shrine bowl. He was selected from the combine to be a finalist he ran a 4.5 there and did good in everything so they invited him to a practice in Greensboro, then from there they cut it down to who they wanted he was heavily considered but why he wasn't selected is unknown an probably has a lot to do with just being from a small area and a small school. We all know how that goes.

I have looked at some recruiting web sites and no schools are mentioned. Which means schools have shied away due to him not qualifying until recently or only small schools are interested. I know Hoggard had a running back a couple years ago who had the same problem. I think he ran for over 2500 yards his senior season (no Shrine Bowl either) and ended going to North Carolina A & T or NC Central. Wherever Skinner ends up ... That school is getting a special player.

Shame on the Shrine Bowl!!! Skinner is as good as Clinton High School has ever had. He's got to be closing in on 5,000 yards in 2 1/2 seasons by now!

  1. There's game speed and there's track speed. A friend of mine once said between the lines is track & field, across the lines is football. Since Skinner was in middle school it was generally known Rayheem was not a practice player but when the game begins and the lights come on he's amazing. I've seen skit of really good Clinton backs (3 NFL starters since 1995) I would say Skinner ranks right up there with the best of them. Some college is going to get a jewel. It'll be interesting who he signs with.

I have followed WRH football for 40 years. That offensive line your horses had in 2014 was the best, they communicated and played as good as any offensive line I have seen in high school football. This year doesn't compare. But, ya'll have got the backs. I don't think they played like that against Shelby or Shelby was just that good. This "O" line will not dominate this year like that one. Your " D" will not shut down the good teams. I can't help it,I don't think your horses is or will be one of your best teams, but will probably win the 2aa because Shelby ain't in it.

Oh my gosh, the Horse's are doomed! I believe the Horses beat WRH in 2014 and they will again this year in 2016. I too have followed Clinton football for 40 years very closely and this year's squad is one of their finest teams.

Clintons offensive line is as good if not better than the 2014 team. Keep telling yourself that they're not to make you feel better about your chances of winning that game but make no mistake, they're as good if not better. You'll find out for yourself November 4th.

Like the others above i have to respectfully disagree i think this team offensive is wayyy more talented then the 2014 team not only is the offensive line on the same level but the RBs are collectively better than that group in 2014......in 2014 it was the Skinner show Howard and Wilkins had there moments Faison was kinda just coming into his own at the Fullback position and the QB Visor was smart and athletic but not near the athlete Kris Williams(Clause) is......remember in the 2014 title game against Shelby once Skinner got hurt the offense just disappeared......not the case this year....At any given time Skinner,Wright,Smith,Williams can take it to the house.......defensively we are right there if not better than the 2014 team aswell......if you watched the Northside JAx game you would know......but everyone has there own opinion.....i think we will find out alil bit more Friday night against EB......one thing for sure dont think this years Wallace team is as good as 2014 or 2015 but still good

It's rained a ton over here in Bladen County this morning. Closer game with the sloppy conditions? Usually, bad weather or bad field conditions causes the athletic gap to shrink between teams.

Don't think your horses are doomed. Some of ya'll fans talk" best team" every year, unless ya'll loose. then, all you can do is talk crap about team (last year). All I'm saying is I never liked most Clinton fans and I never will. Been ten going on eleven years since ya'll championship. I think ya'll got that team that will do it this year, but ya'll thought ya'll did in 94. Darkhorse #34 , I'm not directing this post towards you, and I totally respect your opinion.

Clinton is a good team this year but good only becomes great with the final results. Clinton was really good team in 2014 but ran into a better team in Shelby. This year's team has a chance to be one of the best ever but we have to finish. Dogs79, sorry you and most Clinton fans can't get along I guess that is what a rivalry is all about. What years did/do u consider WRH to be great teams? Did u consider your 2014 team that lost only one game that year (can't remember to who) wink wink but then you went on to win the state championship or the teams that would smash teams regular season but lose in the playoffs? I guess my point is, we all jump the gun on our teams when we start off hot we see the potential but to me it matters only how we finish and not how we start. IMO does this have a chance to be historic team and season, yes but only if we finish strong otherwise we will be just another good team with a lot of ifs and buts attached to it.

1994? The Horses beat the Bulldogs pretty convincingly in regular season, in playoffs the playoff game before the WRH game 2,000+ yard rusher Juan Williams (some will say Clinton's all-time fastest back) (broke his foot and was not available. Horses lost in a close low scoring game. Best team ever? You've never seen me post it and still not this year yet but they're capable of being so. Heck my son was a two way starter on one of the chsmpionship teams so I'm not being biased. Northside and Hoggard this year were better than anyone WRH has played this year ( sorry ED fans that may remain still to be seen) I'm notreally not interested about the WRH game now but I can understand your infatuation with the regular season ending game because you really don't have anyone to play between now and then. Guess what? Neither do the DsrkHorses except this Friday night at EB. East BlDen is the longest continuous rivarky with the DarkHorses and they're usually always good games. Though I expect the DarkHorses to win tomorrow this game is certainly no pushover. But when the regular season ending game comes I want you to remember that 2014 game. It'll.be about like that maybe worse . Until then I'm not going to talk about it till then. Still 5 more games to play and though favored I want to enjoy them!
Dislike Clinton fans? I've never had any dislike for WRH fans and I really hated to hear last week about one of WRH's loyal supporter and former player passing away. I really liked him when I'd see him at games and when I would see him in the court system.
Good luck to the Bulldogs see y'all 11/4 at the dog pound !
