What’s this I’m hearing about a certain son of a legend resigning from head football coach at his school. He’s in line for a school in eastern NC.

Funny been getting a lot of messages saying the same thing about the shady behavior by the Clinton administration

But of course I’m crazy, disrespectful, and talking out my ass lol

We have a city school system here in Whiteville, I don't think JP would move to Clinton, could be wrong, he may listen but seems to be mighty happy here........for now, think he is thinking bigger than Clinton with his next move.
He’s better off in Whiteville.

Soccer town….atleast that’s what they want it to be I guess
Would be interesting to hear what sort of perks, favors, advantages, exceptions, etc. that soccer gets at Clinton that football doesn't. And I'm being serious here; would like you to shed some light on this, b/c just like the "recruting" accusations I think those who made those claims have minimal credibility until they provide some factual details.

Not sure you and I are speaking of same coach. #34 alluded to a potential replacement with the last name but a questionable win'/loss record. I immediately thought of a current Sampson County head coach whose father was very successful.

If what #34 says is true, it will be very interesting to see who the next coach will be. Looking over the last few hires, it seems Johnson was the only outside hire made. Bob Lewis was brought in three seperate times, Sawvel was there twice (one year each time), Al Britt for one season, and former assistant Steve Mallard for a handful of years. All of those had obvious Sampson County ties.

Pretty sure I admitted to being wrong but I guess like always you got selective reading.
You still took the bait. Coach Johnson did a great job for Clinton. Brought your program back to prominence. Everyone knew Clinton was a stepping stone on his path. I even said last year “ the word is he’ll be gone after 23 season “. Most In Sampson Co gave me a hard time. I’m interested in how YA’LL respond.

Well mc will always have athletes. The last 2 coaches didn’t really put much effort into getting kids to come out to play..not much coming back from last years 3 win team but the jv team had a good year. A lot of work will need to be done
Whelp definitely won’t have an issue getting the kids to come out and play.

Did he accept the Marlboro County job??
Well whether he did or didn’t, he ain’t working for Clinton no more. My buddy who works for the Clinton city schools said they fired him today and escorted him off the premisses. Ouch. Guess they caught wind of all the hoop la and said if you are gonna leave, don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Glad I came down the mountain to see them Dark Horses play this year cause back to mediocre they will likely go. Losing your #1 recruiter is tough. Wonder when he has his opening press conference with MC he will quote the former Kansas FB coach Turner Gill when he was hired as coach. His opening press conference words were

"Here are our top priorities: recruit, beat Missouri, recruit, win the North, recruit, win the Big 12, and in most cases if you win the Big 12 then you're playing for a National Championship. And then we're going to recruit.

Just switch the teams with rivals, conference, state title game. lol

He’s taking the Marlboro County job next week .I’m sure that’s why

If he was truly fired and escorted off campus, I would have to think there's more to it than him looking for another job. It's one thing if he put in his notice and they told him don't worry about finishing it and let him walk but that's not firing. Also, does he not hold a teaching position? The school system just has backup teachers at hand ready so they can fire a coach that's looking elsewhere?

Heard they wanted to hold him for 30 days, which is normal, but he refused. Also heard he wanted a 15,000 bonus for going to the State Championship. He was give 5,000 which he didn’t like. Not sure if any of this is true.

“forced to resign” is the term I’m hearing. Which is just a fancy word for well you know.

My last comment on the matter

Lol we had layoff/firing last qtr and they basically came up told employee's to come to office they needed to go over some things. Then sent another person to box up there belongings while they were away. And then escorted them out after everything was boxed up.
