If I was a college scout and saw a kid play 8 games for one school and transfer to another school before the playoffs I would end recruitment there. Transferring after school years is on thing, quitting on your team in the middle of the season is another. I don't care who or how good he is. Tells me all I need to know about his make-up.
I ain’t hating on that kid..I wish him the best and hope he sets records! We don’t own these kids we watch them play and they don’t get paid a damn thing…wish him the best

I don't like being able to transfer during the year and be eligible from any school. They made a commitment and should stick to it. The adults are failing the kids allowing this to happen.
Which one is it champ? On one hand the kid leaves Crest and heads back to Shelby.......and you say "tells me all I need to know about HIS makeup"
But the kid leaves Gaffney during the year and that is STILL at Crest you say "the adults are failing the kids"

Pretty simple to understand. The kids quitting on their teammates and leaving in the middle of the season tells you about their soft make-up. They can transfer that's on them. Being allowed to be immediately eligible is the fault of the administrators (adults). That is rewarding them for being quitters and in my opinion failing them.
Not a fan of any kids transferring in county. Transfers for athletics should be denied in season, or player sits until following season.

From my understanding this year. That was my point. Where does it stop? If Burns gets put out in the 1st round of the playoffs can their best players transfer to Crest for the 2nd round round?

I thought Crest was the super team and everybody wanted to play for them. Grass greener at Shelby a little ole 2A team. The grass might be greener at Crest but that's because of all the horse crap y'all spew over there.
I totally get it and personally I agree shouldn't be eligible at this juncture (if he is back at Shelby)
My point was/is where is the disdain for the kid being granted eligibility from Gaffney (Dont give me the state line crap either) If they quit on their team(as you said) then it shouldnt make a difference between the Shelby kid and Gaffney kid, by your logic you haven't (not once) said "He (Gaffney kid) shouldnt be allowed to play"

I agree with you. If he transferred after he played for gaffney then he shouldn't have been eligible for this season. You have to draw a line somewhere and only being able to play for 1 team per season seems like a line everybody should be able to agree on.
Has anyone wiped the chili and drool off their chins and reached out to the Quick Snack yet to see if they can reserve the back room for the emergency Shoeing of the Horse meeting, that will assuredly be called now that this possible story is unfolding

But SLs point is when the Gaffney player came to Crest on the Monday after the Gaffney vs Crest game nobody from Crest said a negative word about it.
Big day for Shelby. Makes that coin toss win a distant second for the program this year.

The Gaffney kid started his transfer process before the 1st game of the season. It wasn’t 100% completed until after the Crest/ Gaffney game.
