Cleveland county jambo

I believe Camp will be mostly on offense since he and Brooks are the only true depth we have at running back.May see him play some D in the bigger games.

On the Reynolds Facebook page they are all bragging about beating the #1 team in the state. Did some of their fans really not realize how many crest had sitting out? It's just a scrimmage

Cougar-90, we will see. I think we will be alright defensively, we just looked flat and lethargic on that side of the ball last night. Got some things to work out at a couple positions but it's early. Offense is looking good as long as Reggie stays healthy. Not many teams are going to be able to slow down the running game and be able to contain Drummond and Brewer on the outside. Just hope we get them some touches as well as Ahmad Shivers.

Reynolds fans will probably say "well we had some starters out too" even if it was 1 and crest had 6. Sounds like that scrimmage was kind of a waste of time. The second scrimmage it seems like teams already know what they have because of their first scrimmage and just want to get through it without getting anybody hurt. As for Asheville I hope it was the lethargic excuse because I thought for sure the defense was going to be really good and the offense would struggle early. If we come out next week and look bad then ill worry.

I'm pretty sure any real ACR fan knows that Crest wasn't going all out, especially the coaches, it's probably a bunch of kids who don't really know anything about high school football lol and I wouldn't be surprised at how many starters ACR had out. I don't care really, we might have done ACR and Crest a favor, boost ACR's players confidence and make the Crest starters want to make a statement next week. Best of luck to both programs. Both are well known throughout the state. Maybe we'll get a real chance to see who's better in the playoffs...I really just wish We would play ACR instead of MAYBE the fourth best team in Asheville, any of the top three really. But I don't get to schedule games. Just another arm chair QB. Here's hoping for the best against SP, and whoever ACR has first.

I thought Shelby was firing on all cylinders.

Kings Mountain looked good on offense but their defense was suspect. Their game was a thriller.

I'm not reading much into the Crest loss. They treated it like the final NFL preseason game. Tre wasn't even in uniform. And they took Willie out after the first series I think.

Burns looked good except for when we let that QB get away and run for a first down on 3rd and 11. Offense looked crisp. Hate we didn't get the full 24 minutes. Shelby didn't either but they got to play longer.

I am former military and was very disappointed that the American Flag was not being flown during the National Anthem. Any Burns folks on here know WHY the flag wasn't flown?

Kings mountain was pretty damn big I know that. No wonder they gave us some trouble.

Do not think it was intentional maybe an over site . Schools not in and the ROTC usually handles that. withso much to do to putting on a event like the jamboree its not surprising. But I would like to offer up an apology from the Bulldog family.

Budget cuts....Couldnt afford a flag this year because the folks in Raleigh needed new office chairs. Priorities!
all joking aside, yes just an oversight I am sure like OSB said, maybe the sketchy weather played a hand as well.

Isn't it illegal to leave a flag in the rain? Or maybe I just thought that.

Yes we are, but there is more of a passing game involved than you guys. My take on Burns.... We're very small in size and numbers. I think our offense will be better, but our defense won't be near as good. Polk wasn't a good team to give an accurate judgement of the year. They looked pretty bad. Shelby looked fantastic, KM looked good and Crest will be fine. They're starters are huge, fast and athletic. Good showing for CC football all in all. I'm glad it's football season again. Good luck to all next week.
I think the Burns D has a chance to be as good as last year . Hopefully the offense will not leave them in difficult positions this year .

I really do not know why you say the defense will not be nears as good . There is nothing to judge by yet, though two scrimmages they have not been scored on yet. Yes hickory and Polk may not be good to judge by but lets wait and see. There are some good starters back to build around and after last year I trust Cogdill to get the job done.

Hope you guys are right. Hickory and Polk are not good measuring sticks. I did see a lot of hats to the ball every play. I do like that. I just feel like our lack of size will hurt us in the trenches.

I agree with OSB. We have some vets back- Allen, James, Colburn, Leslie, Black as well as some newcomers like Aaron Hill and TJ Roberts. AJ Camp will see some time at corner as well.
