Chase @ Reidsville

Oh I see. So if a team would roll into to town that runs it straight down the throat, puts it in the end zone at a high rate and chews up the clock will get your hind parts busted? Idk just sounds like a recipe for success to me.

Maybe 150 miles or so heading down interstate 40 west, but in the triad area of NC it’s a recipe to get you rear end kicked by 30+

Actually the best chance to beat Reidsville is running it down their throat. Those sideline to sideline plays want work. Reidsville is to fast and quick East to west. I remember MH came to Reidsville with their running attack and kept Reidsvilles offense off the field for 9min in the 1st qtr. We ended up winning 21-14. Came in averaging over 45 points a game up until the mountain Heritage game. So I wouldn’t say a one Dimensional Power Running team has no chance against Reidsville. With that being said I believe Reidsville win in a close one, Meaning by 21 or less if chase can limit Reidsville offensive snaps

The CHASE defense has shown improvement since the Hendersonville game. Granted, the competition hasn't been at the same level as Hendersonville, but still an improvement nonetheless. To me, what could be a deciding factor in this game is special teams, specifically kickoff returns. CHASE has giving up some big KO returns this year and if that happens, it will be very problematic because I am sure Reidsville has a plethora of able-bodied skill players who can take a kickoff to the house in a blink of the eye.

I believe CHASE will be able to move the ball from 20 to 20, but they have to finish drives. They reached the red zone five or six times against Hendersonville, but only managed three points.

Reidsville will also be able to move the ball. The CHASE defense has made a living this year off turnovers and I definitely think they will have to get two or three of those to win this game.

On a side note, this will be my first ever trip to Reidsville, I need some recommendations on where to eat. Let me know a couple of your favorites.

You are not wrong really... if you look at our game against chase it was a really close game at halftime and then after half we fell apart and then the score got bad. Having 27 kids and most playing both ways hurts .... no excuse tho
This game should not be close really and I don’t think it will be
How kids did Chase get from the benefit if East Rutherfordton not having a senior team.

Much easier said than done. Reidsville coaches are among the best in high school football. If you can only run the ball they will devise a defense that will beat you or make you do something you don't do as well.

Pete’s burgers, mayflower seafood, Turks and I’ll add Garfields as another sit down place

Garfield's closed. In the last 6 or 7 years we've played WRH, NE, SWO, Edenton-Holmes, Mt. Heritage, West Rowan and several other run first, grind it out, ball control offenses. WRH and Mt. Heritage in '17 have successful at it. East Surry matched up well with speed and multiple athletes. I would argue despite the fumble against WRH we would have won that game. Big, efficient, but slow o lineman don't work as well against Reidsville. You also have to be able to score quick if you get behind. Mt. Heritage and NE have tried it multiple times. Not taking anything away from those programs. Great talented players and coaches. They just don't play from behind well. You have to be able to shut us down completely or go toe-to-toe up and down the field. I think the game could be closer than some think. We'll have to see.

This season, page had some success. They had two good backs.

Rams are missing the big, dominant veteran defensive lineman/linebacker that they've had in the past so this will be a challenge for a relatively young defense.

What year did you play West Rowan?

If I'm not mistaken, which is possible, my son's senior year. Fall 2017. They had a 4⭐ running back.

We played west Rowan a long time ago. The 2011 team lost 26-10, but our starting an was out and we did not have a back up qb. We got blown out in 2012 35-6 maybe.

You don’t think watlington is? He started at gw Danville at linebacker previous years
He's been solid but not dominant. He's fourth on the team in tackles (avg. 3.6 per game) but he does have 6 TFLs.

If all you do is run the ball Reidsville is going to bust your hind parts
It's not like they can't pass. Senior QB Damian Boykins is 109 of 175 for 1384 yards and 16 TDs this season.
Go-to receiver is Taivon Derisma, a 6-1 junior. He has 40 receptions for 620 yards and 5 TDs.

To compare, Reidsville sophomore QB Al Lee is 99 of 161 for 2,294 yards and 30 TDs.

I'm just an outsider looking in...but to me this looks like an amazing game to be able to see. Good luck to both teams.

#13 Chase (10-1 (4-1)) finished 2nd in their conference and have outscored opponents 41-18. They won their first round matchup versus PLP 47-8.

#4 Reidsville (10-0 (6-0)) finished 1st in their conference and have outscored opponents 45-10. They won their first round matchup versus Randleman 49-7.

The Pass versus The Run. In order for Chase to keep things where they want them they'll need to really be on top of the Time of Possession game and play keep away. Even then, an offensive attack like Reidsville is dangerous every single play. I love this matchup. My prediction: at the half Reidsville 21 - Chase 13 and by games end - Reidsville 38 - Chase 28.

Coach Teague and his staff made a few key changes about 3 or 4 games ago. O line and moved a few people around on the d line. TGT can you look back and see what our defense has allowed after the Andrew's game until now and also look at how much more efficient our running game has improved.
I thought we were very suspect until those changes. I think you'll see improvements on both sides of the ball.
Through the first 6 games, Rams' opponents were averaging 216 total yards per game. In the four games since, opponents are averaging 173 yards per game.
Rushing yards per game is pretty much the same.

Mule ... is that the stat you were looking for?

NO. I was looking for the percent of completions that went for TDs for the Rams great WRs other than Flippen.

About 55%+ of Flippens receptions have gone for TDs this year. Don't know about Simpson, Brown, and others numbers.

Might take some digging to get these numbers!

Ooops ... that was FBCapital's question. Yours will require a bunch of digging - not even sure I have that info.

Chase has 12 players from East Rutherfordton that would be playing for East Rutherfordton if they had a varsity team. So, Chase should enjoy that benefit till East Rutherfordton has varsity football team.

Interesting info … thanks Shelbyfootball. One has to wonder why Chase has depth problems (as mentioned in a previous past) with that influx of manpower and where would they be without it.
Another item: Chase and East Rutherford campuses are 9 miles apart. Forest City and Bostic.
