CCC week 5

Chew on this score. CD JV beats Thomasville 74-50. Yes I said 74-50 in a JV game.

The word is in your name. Wow... That is something else lol.

I still can't figure out what game I want to go to. North vs East because of the qb situation, Oak Grove vs Lexington because I want to see how much difference there is from the game last year, or Tville vs Central to check out that doublewing in person.

The lady wants to go tonight, so it will probably end up being North and East lol.

I think Central Davidson has something special going on over there since they switched to the double wing. I saw somewhere just a few days ago that they are averaging 503 yards a game running the ball.

I have heard the double wing is nearly unstoppable if run correctly. Sounds like the JV game last night neither team could stop the other. I think the Central is gonna upset some teams in the conference this year and could possibly finish as high as 3rd or 4th with that offense.

Its just crazy to think for the last several years they have been a given win for teams. I think they went 2-3 season and didnt win a game!! I heard they had some kids transfer to private school due to fact baseball was their sport so im guessing that hurt in some of those years. But, to turn around your program overnight just by switching up to this type offense just blows my mind. I asked a fan the other day where that QB they had transferred to, cant recall the kids name but had an arm on him. I was told coach told him after last year they are switching to this offense and the kid transferred to SouthWest Guilford not sure if he starts for them or not.

Not a modern day qb friendly offense. All 11 must block including the qb, as well as fake. Doublewing and Singlewing get lumped as not real football when they actually go to the very origins of football.

North Davidson looking more balanced tonight. Jenkins fires his first TD pass as Black Knight QB. 7-0 ND with 9:38 left in the half.

Tville with a 75 yard TD run up the middle....2 point conversion is good 14-7 tville 4 :26 2nd qtr

49 yard field goal makes it 17-0 ND with 4 seconds in the half.

And that is the halftime score as well.

I heard Salisbury was down to WD 3-0 and then up 7-3. I thought that game would be over quick.

It's getting ugly now. Driving it down the field running the ball, ND qb takes it in for a TD run after both teams almost have a brawl on the East sideline. Didn't see what happened.

ND 24-0 with 5:25 left in 3rd qtr.

I saw exactly what happened on the "Almost Brawl". Just another undisciplined ND player. We're used to it by now. On the play, ND's best player (IMO anyway) continued to block the ED player 30 yards away from the play and then pretty much tackled him and continued to lay on him. When they got up they continued to jaw with each other as they walked up the sideline. Obviously, I have no idea what was said but all of a sudden the East player basically slapped ND's player across the helmet. Well, nobody from the officiating crew saw this as they were up the field. But instead of just walking away, ND's player picked the ED kid up and body slammed him. I mean straight up WWE style. He got ejected, and rightfully so, and will probably miss the next two games.

Way too many instances of lack of discipline at North over the past 3 years.
I get the “quick rage” thing, after someone does you wrong on the field. But come on...

Refs were horrible at the game. Two calls went against ED at the end of the 1st half, no call PI and fumbled punt by ND clearly looked recovered by East player only to have refs give it back to ND.

I will say this about East, all of the reports are correct, they seem to run around the same 4 or 5 plays and that's it. They made this ND defense look like the 85 Bears. East never crossed mid-field all night.

Thoughts after last night:
Like I mentioned last week, I'm still not sold on Salisbury.
I think North will be fine.
It's still too early in CCC play to tell if Ledford could repeat as CCC champs, as they've only played the bottom half. However, I don't believe people are giving them enough credit.
In no particular order, I have OG, Ledford and North in the top 3.

I see what the East guys were saying about only running a few plays. HB dive, HB off tackle, QB dive, QB off tackle and an occasional pass. East simply has no offense this year.

I agree that it looked like ED recovered the ball on the muffed punt. A couple of big plays by ND were also called back, I don't think the refs had any friends on either side last night.

ND QB looked a bit shaky at the start of the game, and sometimes he wasn't looking at the snap when it came. He improved throughout the game though, looked pretty good running and throwing. The running attack looked much better, he brings a different dimension to the offense in that department.

We'll see if that changes any over the next few weeks though.

I agree about the new ND QB. At first I was like "OMG", this is not going to be pretty, but he did improve a lot as the game went on. I think a lot of it was just nerves. One thing is for sure, when he runs he does a great job of cutting and getting those two or three extra yards. When he throws he can sling it down field no doubt, sometimes it looks a little wobbly but that can be worked on. What impressed me though was the RB that North put in in the 4th quarter. He wore #21 and that kid was impressive. Hits the whole at 100 mph and was picking up chunks of yardage. I know, I know, it was East and in the 4th quarter, but that kid ran hard. You're telling me that kid couldn't have played RB last week?o_O

The Dogs showed up in a tough game last night!!! Gives me a little bit of confidence that they can win a grind out game!!! Needed that big run play for TD really gets everyone pumped up!! Salisbury score surprises me big time, would love to know the way West game plan. Ledford looks to be very solid again this year. Oak Grove just mowing down everyone other than North, they are starting to really impress me, must be some great coaching, i just dont see that many great athletes over there. East looks like they are going to have to have lots of breaks to even score a TD and that just dumbfounds me with a 3 year starting QB who is big and has a tremendous arm. Im hoping my Dogs can gain some momentum after last night!! Lexington is starting to look like East as bottom feeders!!!

My take from the Central vs THS game.

Central is decent. We might of over hyped them after last week win. Lexington is just that bad. Thomasville did to Central what Lexington was suppose to do to them with athletes. Speed kills. Central offense is ran pretty solid. It’s going to give teams fits. It looks to be pretty well coached. Thomasville has some play makers. Don’t know if they have enough depth when it comes to OG, Salisbury, ND, or Ledford. OG, Salisbury, and ND will for sure play a much fast pace game unlike Central. Central played into their hands. I don’t see any of these teams shocking ND, OG, Salisbury, or Ledford. The Salisbury score was interesting. But, I think they had a few players missing. But it proves anyone can have the chance to be beat any given night.

I also want to hold off until I see Ledford play. Last year they were underestimated, and North Davidson took one right on the chin in the conference finale.

Oak Grove is probably going to get bit in the butt at some point due to their lack of a kicking game. But the good news is that the coaching staff is well aware of it and is very capable of making adjustments to minimize that weakness.

Also. ND up only 14-0 to East at half is a win for East. Don’t seem like they dominate East like they did the last couple years. Flynn I’m sure wanted to be up 50 at half. Good job East for battling with them.

just the new North Davidson. Careless, careless football. As said before, this has been the way of things for 3 years now and starts with the staff. Oh well, they won so what else matters :rolleyes:

big win for Thomasville and tough loss for central.
When was the last time East wasn’t a punching bag?

My opinion on East is they have just had a couple bad years for the most part. They whipped my Dogs butts 3 out of 4 years i think and just 2 years ago they were a 6 win team. I think prior to that when the older Shewcow was there they made some playoff runs. I agree with Jus-ah-fan North only up 14-0 at half tells me East has a good defense or north not as powerful as I thought or both.

It was 17-0 at half with another TD called back. ND qb had jitters in his first start, time will tell on him.

It was a bit of both, East D did their best to carry their terrible offense but North is not as good either. Which happens sometimes when you lose your starting qb and have to break a new one in.

North plays SR and WD before playing Tville. THAT is the game that will test how good North is now.

Well for my sake I hope its a test!!! Im not sold on the Dogs yet but we shall see!! Yes losing the Moore kid was a big blow and I'm hearing the top receiver will be gone for 2 games for the incident with East.
