Last week was not the start several of the teams wanted so we go into week 2 of non-con games with some questions to be answered. This weeks slate of games and my predictions.
Thomasville-B Yancey: Bulldogs lost to 2A Randleman in week one and have some work to do on offense to score more points and move the ball. Defense and special teams are solid for the Bulldogs. BY took it on the chin from TW Andrews last week so I am taking the Bulldogs in this one by 28+ as they get back to winning the next few weeks in non-con matchups.
Salisbury-Walkertown: Hornets blew past N Davidson last week and shut them down 42-0. Walkertown is athletic and got the win last week but cannot stop the Hornets. The bigger, faster and stronger Salisbury Hornets continue to win big with a 35+ margin.
East Davidson-Wheatmore: ED lost to P Grove last week and has the improved but still struggling Wheatmore Warriors. Wheatmore gets it second Davidson County win in two weeks beating ED 21-14 after beating West Davidson in week one.
West Davidson-Ledford: Week two the Dragons travel to Ledford who has beaten the Dragons to pieces in every recent game. Ledford coming off a big win over 4A Glenn has two much for the Dragons and wins real big. WD goes to 0-2 getting pounded 45-7.
Lexington-Carver: Both teams lost last week with Lexington almost beating Parkland. Carver got beat up by N Moore 27-0. I am going to give the Lexington kids the nod this week in a close game 14-13. Lexington needs a win real bad to right the sinking ship and it may come at the expense of a struggling Carver program.
South Davidson-C Central: SD coming off a huge blowout win in week one over J Matthews faces the C Central Bears 0-1. C Central lost to a traditionally bad N Stokes week one close but will get blown out this week as the upstart Wildcats continue to build confidence and go 2-0 with a 35-13 win.
N Rowan-Forest Hills: NR looks to be older and better coming off a blowout win last week. F Hills is an athletic 2A team and is coming off a win over 3A Gastonia Ashbrook. The surging Cavaliers come up short this week against a bigger 2A FH team in a close game. FH wins 28-21.
