Ok folks New Bern is really practicing hard and are getting right!! CC is a good team And on film looks like a run team but does allow 21 per game this year !!! So with this said I see NB winning State 42 to 14

They do (and will on Friday) give up some points, but they also have butted heads against some of the best offenses in the state (and in SC), which tends to skew their numbers a bit.

Mallard Creek - 43.9 pts/game
Rock Hill Northwestern - 39.5 pts/game
Reagan - 38.7 pts/game
High Point Central - 38.5 pts/game
Davie - 35.2 pts/game
Vance - 34.5 pts/game

Statistically, New Bern will be the 5th best offense Catholic has played this year (37.1 pts.game), although New Bern played several 3A opponents in their conference, which likely boosted their numbers. Speaking of schedules, Catholic also schedules TWO defending 4A state champs OOC (Mallard Creek, Northwestern), so New Bern will probably not be the best team that Catholic will have seen this season. The same thing probably cannot be said in return.

Either way, though, Catholic will not try and win this game by shutting down the New Bern offense, which probably won't happen. Instead, they will line up behind their big oline and play keep away, and they are very, very good at doing that.

The Bears defense is one of the best in the state and they will show the western half of the state tomorrow night. Also Mike Hughes is pretty good. New Bern by 21
