I'm glad you left us at #1. I know I am biased but based on that game Friday we should remain #1. That was an awesome game.

I have watched Kinston, Northeastern, and Green Central. None of them really blow me away on their hudl highlights. Who do you guys from the East think has the best chance in small 2a of defeating someone in the West?

Since it seems the majority of posters have already crowned Shelby, it really doesn't make a difference right?

But really, hudl doesn't tell you which players are coming back from injury? A speedster moved up from JV? Or a completely different game plan designed for that particular opponent? Every football game on Fridays are different....you never quite know how a kid is going to perform that night? You never know who may get hurt prior to the championship? So you have some high powered teams in the East...Kinston, SWE, NE, Fairmont, Hertford Co. Take your pick? They all can bring it on any given night.

Actually they are great. Dont let people fool you with their Spelling Bees

I am concern what level of conference each of them played.

Scaring thing is Shelby will be almost as good as this year in 2016. Defense will be better and they have a QB who is equal to the record setting kid this year. I think the fall off will be instead of having 5 super receivers they will be down to three. If you had told me Shelby would be way better than last year I would have never believed it until I saw it in person. I highly doubt the first round opponent could beat their entire second string. Hard to believe a 850 ADM school could put that many kids into the program. Those numbers are usually only happening with 4A teams. By the way Shelby's band is smaller than AC/DC. What's up with that?

9 starters back on Defense, 5 on offense. Band used to be huge, not sure what happened, lost interest maybe? We used to have band competitions there.

I agree with you Shawn, hard to tell on hudl. The competition I saw though did look a little weak. I'm not crowning Shelby. I have thought before Shelby would win State and left disappointed.

Tradition of sustained success and being the best. Everybody wants to be a part of it even if they aren't very good.

Funny comment about AC/DC...I actually LOLed. I think the Thomasville poster is correct....people who would be in the band want to be on the football team now.

All high school bands are really suffering these days....gone are the days when 100 to 150 member bands were around.......gone forever...whatever happened to Majorettes?? No school in this area has any and hasn't for years..............I've been married to my Majorette for the last 39 years.....still miss seeing her in that short skirt tho............lol..............What were we talking about?? lol.......................

That's funny sir. Yep, the great days of twirling batons and glitter costumes. I remember the biggest band I ever saw was AL Brown when Cannon Mills gave big money to the school for band uniforms and other items. Never seen that many buses unload at a football game. The entire field was covered with band members in green attire. Also had a huge stage band. They were a big 4A school for those times with Ethan Horton (NFL). I would guess maybe 200 members.

Yeah I can remember as a kid back in the mid to late 50's my Dad and Uncle taking me to see RJ Reynolds vs. Greensboro Sr. High (now Grimsley) At that time that was monster game in this part of the state....Reidsville was off that nite...anyway both teams dressed around 85-90 players and both bands had probably 150 to 200 members with each band having about a dozen majorettes...impressive...I still have that memory and I'm 65 so I guess it must have been pretty special.................
