I know some good teams in 4A. Probably hard to tell who has best defense at this point.

Idk about best, but I think we may be in the discussion of top 10 defense this year when it’s all said and done

Seeing how some of these teams fared from 2022 season. Looking at how many points they scored and points they gave up in the whole season and how many points they scored and how many they gave up in the regular season,
I understand depending on what schedule these teams had played and conference they played in would have an effect on outcome of the season.
So at best of my ability this is what I come with for each team. So hopefully I didn’t make any mistakes.

Starting with New Bern who was 4A State Champs of 2022.

Butler last season when they gave up points it was Lawrence having multiple int games. Reynolds and Independence comes to mind. I think if he limits those turnovers I think Butler will be a little better on defense.

Hough’s defense was stout and should be good again although i was surprised Grimsley hung 40 on them.
