Huge Mountain Foothills games this week. They don't have a tournament but the 2 leaders go head to head twice this week. R-S Central and East Rutherford are both 20-1 and play tonight and Thursday. If they split, a third game would be played to determine the 1 seed out of the conference.

According to MaxPreps Shelby & East Gaston played last night. East won 28-1.

Thomas Jefferson & Cherryville play tonight. Highland Tech & Bessemer City also play tonight.

We have a stunner. AL Brown upsets South Iredell 6-5. AL Brown had finished 1-11 in the conference. They came in as 7th seed and will take on Cox Mill for the Greater Metro 4A conference championship game. If AL Brown wins they will get in the 4A playoffs to my understanding.

are you sure about this? this would be a major disadvantage to them going into the playoffs having to play a extra game and burn pitching. Are you sure they don't just go off who has higher RPI?

I am sure. Talked to a coach of R.S. this week about it. Both teams threw their ace yesterday. So they will be ready to go Game 1 of the playoffs next week. Assuming they both throw their #2 tonight, and the playoffs start Tuesday, that would be 4 days rest for the number 2 guy.

That's why R.S. and ER both want a conference tournament. But the majority of the conference don't.

I get that but if a split occurs and I assume they play Friday to determine who wins conference your forced to probably throw guys with low to no innings…..I wouldn’t want a potential overall 3 or 4 seed relying on a kid who barely pitched all year….terrible for the kids imo
