Best 2A Team right now.

Give Boaz Shelby's receivers and speed..he would look like Tom Brady. Shelby= better team, receivers, and athletes..
Boaz= better QB.
Let the dehate continue.
His brother was by far the best in 2019 with that ES championship team that steamrolled Tarboro and blasted Reidsville..

East did not blast Reidsville. That game coulda went either way. They put up some good numbers though

If some 2A teams beats one of the teams that beat Shelby, would that place them higher? Speculating is fine. Who beat who, who plays a more difficult schedule, will all be out the window come November. You could take the eventual winner in December and given them the lowest seed in November and they likely would still be "the last man standing".
you're bias

I believe that, in 1A and 2A, seeding is very important. Four hour one way trips can definitely affect how a team plays. Home field advantage can be huge in high school.

Has to be Monroe

I wonder what the stats are on that? Throughout the playoffs the higher seeded team has the home field advantage, as would be expected. If you look at the regular season games with the higher polling team (which is just a opinion) playing an away game do they win more often, showing home field not much advantage How much of and advantage 2 pts. 3 pts? With teams that are experienced and confident I don't think it make a heck of a lot of difference if they are playing at home or on some other teams home practice field. They rise to the occasion.

I believe for regular season games...Simmons Ratings adds 2 points to the home team just for being at home.

I saw something like this over in the 1A board and thought I would start the conversation on the 2A board. I’m not looking who’s going to be the best at the end but who is playing their best football now.
Will St Pauls make the same noise as last season?

The playoffs is when it matters. That requires the long bus rides, which are determined by seeding. As long as they include your opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage, it’s not a level playing field. It’s hard enough to schedule without having to predict who your opponents will schedule. Especially when your conference schedule is predetermined.
I do believe that often the best team wins the championship. But the excessive travel sometimes affects the results. Just like in NCAA basketball, the best team doesn’t always win the championship. It’s sometimes about matchups and travel as well.

True...but RPI seeding nailed the 2A West on the head last year...a few wrong seeds?yes, but it pretty much was spot on.
