Bandys 2023 Football Schedule

Can’t help but chuckle…ole Howard was plowing turnips on that brushy mountain field in ‘18 in a losing effort...3rd round.

It’ll be good to see Bandys back to their winning ways. They’re scrappy as hell…gotta cut half the penalties out…and they’ll be there. 😜

Lincolnton knows!😂

"The Lincolnton fans are to use the visitors' exit" "The Lincolnton fans are reminded to use the visitors exit" ibid...ibid...ibid

They have to come here this time and I can say with confidence us peaceful Lincolnton sorts are a lot more exit friendly, meaning you can use any exit you want to, even if you beat us; and we won't send the law enforcement into your stands, either... Perhaps we'll understand each other a little better, some day.:D

Yes, my friend ! We’ll not only play through the signal ending the second quarter, we’ll probably leave a spy at the door of the field house to make sure they don’t start the third quarter without us.
Like the old maxim: Happens once, shame on you-happens twice, shame on me.

Let's run the huddle play on them like we did in 1975 or 76 they cried for 10 years over that play

The Wolves ran it so much that everybody caught onto it.
The huddle play goes way back. For anyone not familiar with the huddle play: The huddle is formed in a "basic" or New Age" huddle (Linemen in front and backs behind them with the QB facing them with his back to the LOS). It's set up off center as much as possible without it being noticed, usually about five yards back.

The center breaks out of the huddle, goes to the ball, gets into a snapping position as though he’s waiting for the team to break the huddle. Suddenly, he picks up the ball and throws it underhanded to a back on the corner of the huddle and away they go.

Side Note Particularly Maiden Creek: I once read that a quarterback at Gallaudet University was the founder of the huddle in football due to opponents picking up on his play calling in ASL.

Postscript: When Lincolnton ran the huddle play, the official knew about it and the defense had not left the field or headed to the sidelines, and the official had not told the defense that the offense is going to take a knee. And us kindly Lincolnton sorts don't dislike our opponents or believe that their fans are on parole.

How is this play legal? there's not 7 on the LOS.

The 1967 first round playoff game between Lincolnton and Hickory when Easter took the backward lateral and raced 40+ yards to set up the Wolves game winning field goal is a perfect example of this play. The lineman had gotten close enough to the line of scrimmage to make it legal and pull it off.

I'm sure our guy will apply at some point although he left with less than stellar results before he came here. Hea applied for four jobs already, why not another. He sure is not his old man is he.

Starmount, West Forsyth, West stokes I heard. Even took the stokes job but we offered more money. Now one of our best assistants is gone to wear stokes. Pisses me off. Good coach but tough it out when you dont have great talent. That's what we need.

I don't know if he comes back to Catawba county. Right now he's a big fish in a small pond. Coming back here he won't have that advantage. And if nc passes open school choice he would be better off in an area where he can pull in the athletes.

My fear is there we've got two city systems. And they can do more for kids. Mount Airy will be the one that benefits if they pass the open school choice. Not us.

I think school choice to stupid and it would kill a lot of programs as other benefit from it if they do pass it they need have guidelines and all with it imo

I guess that's where we disagree a little I would love school choice. In the end it makes other programs and schools step up their game or face being irrelevant

But if Maiden become irrelevant u wouldn’t be so happy about it now would ya?

School choice is stupid - It would allow the Richer to get richer everyone complains about recruiting and this and that but school choice totally kill off most program that doesn’t have same success as others

Our town and boosters would never let that happen.. that's why I made the statement every school would have to make an effort to improve itself

School choice is an academically motivated animal and athletics play no part. Parents with students in horrible school systems don't want their kids to have to participate in said system and want a way out without having to get approved for a 300k loan for a smaller house and higher interest.

Will schools and parents take advantage of the rules for athletic reasons? I'm sure...some kids don't stand a chance academically and their God-given athletic abilities is their only way out of their situation...they'll definitely want to go somewhere they can be seen.

Like @amaidendevil said, at a macro-level view, this will force schools to get their ducks in a row both in the classroom and on the field...or be left behind.

Whether people agree or disagree, it looks like it's happening either way...you can get ahead of it and take it in stride ahead of other schools, or you can muck around, head down, for a few years and start in a hole that takes 15 years to get out of.

My point is NOT all school are created equal in Academic or Athletics so schools like Out East and few in Western NC will fall behind period bc funding or whatever the case is not the same so

Out west students are already doing this. Clinton and Reidsville bring in kids all the time. But out there the schools and counties don't care
