Its 8 games. We have lost to ACR lots of times by big margins and still won the WHC and many times running the table after being beat so it's nothing new. Like you said Heritage and I think Mitchell and Polk would all lose to ACR just as bad

Not many teams like ACR are up in the mountains they are like having to play Shelby every years they are just on another level. It’s very very hard for small teams to play with larger teams because of the kids going both ways. Conditioning is one thing but when fresh body’s keep coming it’s hard.
14 had 59 yards total offense
6 had 88 yards total offense
3 had 37 yards total offense
And I stated that fairly early in the game. Had Patterson not played it may have been 0-0 in OT lol!
Yeah there were 105 snaps not counting kickoffs. Our 11 play almost every one of them. ACR has a different 11 playing each phase of the game for the most part. A few play special teams as well as offense
i was there last nite too.i think owen had a much improved team than they have had lately. speed was definitely the difference. and yep number 5 was a big difference no doubt.glad hes on our side. good ;luck to the warhorses the rest of the way. oh n by the way on that fumble after your lineman recovered the ball our guy took it rite out of his hands. i think it would have still been our ball anyway. either way just a break in the game.
Yes, I too agree Reynolds would be favored most likely in a game against Mtn. Heritage, but I promise it would not be a 35-3 game and doubt even the Reynolds fans would expect a 32 point margin of victory. Reynolds probably has the most athletic team in the mountains but Owen will see plenty of athletic kids on the field when they hit conference as well. Of course us smaller 2A schools have to have athletes play both ways and it tends to wear us down. WHC should have some great football coming up in the next few weeks. No offense but you struggled to put up points on Erwin and Brevard. You would have a harder time with ACR and as good as yall think your defense is you would not have enough defense to keep them from scoring. So in short the margin could very well be as bad. A couple breaks and it could have been closer. Heck we could have stuck with the game plan and ran the ball and ran the clock but we were trying to get back in the game. So we could have shortened the game to keep the score closer for the posters so they would be ok with it but the kids weren't going to roll over. And no Owen will not see the sheer volume of athletes that we saw Friday in conference or any game in the playoffs outside of a 3rd round game or something. The demographics arent the same.
It was your post that tried to justify that no one else in the WHC would have done any better against them. I have much respect for Owen and they wore us out for years but until you come up with some big wins in the WHC this year, you cannot know that the other WHC teams would fair the same. You can prove your point in the upcoming weeks though. I’m just glad to see the conference be more competitive this year or at least appear to be at this point. Hope Owen has good season.
How come Mountain Heritage wouldnt come play us week 3....we tryed to set it up but Heritage said no?
Not sure about that. Definitely not part of those decisions or even aware. Would have been tough matchup for sure but possibly some good experience for the playoffs this year if we continue to play well. Last playoff trip we made to Shelby did not go so well for sure.
Coach Wilbanks wanted a very good 2a school to play week3 so we good gauge where we stood week 3...knowing Heritage is alway tough it been good test
I went to the Owen and Reynolds game, Owen will give Heritage and Mitchell a war. Owen Defense is very strong against the run.
I've been pleasantly surprised with Heritages team this year .we lost all of our starting lineman on defence and all but one on offensive line, but that's high school football .I havnt seen Owen play but when the warponies come up the hill I hope they come to play, and if they beat us ..I will be the first to congratulate all Owen fans .I've got great respect for Owen and when they are competitive it make the conference better..

Erwin beat you guys by 10 and Mitchell by 13 last year only in week 3 to lose to ACR by 30 and won every game till the playoffs after that. Not so crazy! We beat Erwin 35-0 in 2009 and Heritage lost to that same Erwin team a couple weeks later then we got trounced by Heritage. Matchups matchups matchups. It's high school football. Anything can happen. These are kids.
Wasnt knocking Brevards d. I know it's good. Just saying the speed of ACRs is on another level. We likely will have a hard time scoring. We didnt for 4 quarters last year.
