100% I was blessed to learn under him, he is certainly a mentor in mine and hundreds of others lives.
4A West Final: Dudley @ Catholic

I went there. However, I was able to learn under Oddo in both football knowledge and life. My junior year I created a presentation on our offense for Coach Oddo, it allowed me to learn the offense but also get great time with Coach Oddo that not many got. I was and am very blessed. I've been around the program in some way for seven years now
I met him in 09 when he was the Shrine Bowl as the coach. Coach Davis was on his staff for that game
NC won that Shrine Bowl too. He will be at the game Friday I do know that
Catholic's game plan in my mind will be similar to what it was against East Forsyth. They will test the edges with Jet Sweeps to see if the Dudley secondary will come down quick on the run game. They will then see if those DBs are discipline by throwing Playaction off those same formations. Their running game will be mostly off tackle due to the size and strength of the middle of Dudley's defense. When they are in 3rd and long they will use vertical crossing routes screen passes, and draws. I think their plan will be to keep Hooker off the field with long time eating possessions and try to limit their mistakes. The Dudley offense will then be coming off the bench after sitting for 6-7 minutes in the cold weather Friday night. Can they come into the game after sitting for so long in freezing temps without making mistakes? The team that has 2 turnovers Friday will lose. I say this one will be very similar in score to last weeks game.

Great assessment Warhead! Charlotte Catholic will try to limit the times Dudley offense is on the field. I also think linebacker play is very important. They got to have discipline eyes and attack. Our defense has been making plays and scoring all year. They will need that type of play friday night. I think we are ready for the kitchen sink. There is not one doubt about our defense or secondary coming up to lay that wood. Brion Seagraves ,Miles Berry and company will hurt you.

Dudley's D bowed their backs in the 2nd half, and that was the difference in the game. That and costly turnovers by Catholic. I'll take Dudley next weekend..... against Cape Fear
Catholic beat themselves in the 2nd half. But next week should be one hell of a game. Who had Cape Fear in the state championship? No one.
My man was down, though. It happened right in front of me. The ground caused the fumble, and that was after he was already down.
Sure would have been nice to have a couple of those last week! Oh well. Congrats on a great season Catholic!

Man I was close on the score. I think had Catholic not had one of those turnovers it may of been 21-17 game. I said 2 Turnovers in turned out to be 4. Dudley did a great job on the toss and jet sweeps. They also did a great job playing the screens and draws. Great seeing 2 Triad teams represent the West in the 4AA/4A. Greensboro with 3 teams making it to Championships games is huge for the Triad. Congrats to Dudley, Page and Eastern Guilford.
I agree with you Catholic. There are a few really good teams up here that know how to win and lose. Teams that come to mind are Dudley, Page, East Forsyth, West Forsyth. Everytime I've seen them live they are very humble after defeat
And the rivalry will continue as both schools move to 3A next year. Goodness.
Was at the game and it was great. I tell you those refs man lol. The make up call for Dudley was crucial. Dudley defense did a great job handling their run game. And they had a some good turnovers as well.
I enjoyed myself but I'll be watching the championship from home. Raleigh is just a little too far for me.

I noticed in the second half I think there was a collision on the Dudley sideline and it looked like a fan was hurt. Seemed to be in a lot of pain, is he ok?
