At this stage in the season with the final 8 teams playing it is safe to say these OL units are probably pretty elite for the high school level. I just wanted to put out and appreciation post for the big guys up front. No doubt the focus in most state championship games will be on the stars and the skill players, but these guys have paved the way for some pretty spectacular offensive seasons.

Somewhere along the way in the games one of these units will have to take over and assert some dominance at the point of attack. Question is which one will it be?

Let's start with Grimsley's OL: No doubt the QB and RB combo of Brandon and Summers makes life a lot easier in the trenches. Guys like that are fun to block for because they can make plays and get chunk yardage. This unit has paved the way for 2696 passing yards and 3688 rushing yards this goes with scoring 704 points this season so far. That's good for 425 offensive yards per game and 46 ppg.

Ok now Rolesville: This is a young program, they have only been around for 10 years. State runner ups in 2020. They love to throw the ball. They have protected their QB Atkinson and given him the time to throw for 3743 yards, that is very impressive as pass pro is not the easiest thing in the world to master especially on the high school level. They have paved the way for several different running backs and have 2007 rushing yards this season. They average scoring 48 points a game and 383 yards of offense per game.

This game has the making of shoot out. Massey has this game at 40-34 Grimsley. Buckle up because there will be a lot of scoring done this weekend.
