Top QB/RB in 7A/8A

Matthew Boring had an impressive soph season and proved why he’s one of the best underclassmen in the state by completing an impressive 68 percent of his passes (227 of 336) for 2,737 yards and 23 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He added six rushing touchdowns.

Hoggard overcame several season-ending injuries to key players to finish 12-2 overall and 7-0 in the Mideastern Conference for the second year in a row and fourth time in the past five seasons. The Vikings advanced to the fourth round of the 4A playoffs.

Boring threw for more than 200 yards on six occasions, including a career-high 315 in a victory at Ashley on October 11. He had four touchdown passes against Greenville Rose and Laney, and finished with three in three other games.
