Salisbury sits at 17-3 and have been playing good ball. Part of it maybe due to weak competition. Looks like they could easily finish winning their last 4 regular season games. I’m ready when playoff time comes when we start seeing good competition.

Lake Norman got tested tonight by Hickory Ridge, and escaped with a 73-67 win to go 20 and 1 on the season. Max Preps posted score.
Reidsville improved to 75-1 over the last 3 seasons (20-0 this year) with a smashing of West Stokes tonight 77-35....lead by point guard Dionte Neal's 33 points, 10 assists and 8 steals......

Friday was another tough battle for Lake Norman against Cox Mill, but The Lake Swimmers had the tide with them and got a 25 point win.
End of the 1st score was 23 to 10. And Cox Mill actually made a pretty decent run but it seemed to just tick LN off so they ended the half with 4 straight slam dunks to close the half up 40-26.
It got worse from there and there was no single point of attack for LN. 8 or 9 players just beat the drum and beat it hard.
The score could and would have been worse except for two things, some very unselfish passes went wrong giving Cox Mill some points, and Cox Mill did not stop playing hard. They have 3 or 4 players that could start on most 4A teams that I have seen.
One disappointment was that the gym had a lot of empty seats. You have two of the best 4 A teams (LN Ladies and Men) in the STATE and on a Friday night against a not that far away Cox Mill and maybe half the seats were filled.

On another level, 2A and 18 and 4 North Surry pulled out a 54 to 51 win over 1A Mount Airy. The Bears have had a real hard time in basketball this season but played really had tonight. I understand they had opportunities to win but The Greyhounds are tough and stood strong in a packed house at Mt Airy HS.
REWhitley, I will be at the Mooresville vs Lake Norman game on 2/14. If you there I will make an effort to meet you.
I am want to be there but it is Tax Season and getting more jammed. If I am able I would also like to say hell,
I am going to be at Lake Norman on the 13th for the Bishop Lake Norman Ladies game. That will be the only game that night (6:00) and I was able to cross out my schedule as soon as that game was scheduled. LN Coach Graham made darn sure I knew and made arrangements! (She is a neat lady and good friend of my daughter,)
My LN Teacher daughter and I have permanent reserved seats on the home side, first row, last seats on football side/next to hallway/straight across the gym floor from where the Lake Norman team sits. I think a couple of my Mt Airy Friday Night Football Tailgating Group will join us for this game.
We really like meeting other like mined high school sports fans like us. Will look forward to meeting up!!

Lake Norman will take on South Iredell then finish out the regular season this Friday at Mooresville. That’s the big rivalry game. I’m planning on going to that one.
With the private schools starting the playoffs today, and the public schools finishing up their regular seasons this week, I wanted to know you all thoughts on this hypothetical match up! Reidsville vs. Greensboro Day? Two very different styles of play. Just been thinking about the outcome of this game if they played.

Lake Norman's Josh Yates hit 6 first half 3's and I do not know how many other points on breakaways. 49 to 15 at half. JV's played most of 2nd half.
And speaking of Yates, on at least two occasions he had breakaway's for layups but did he score? NO, he laid the ball off the backboard so either Spainhour or McKinnon could perform crowd standing bring the house down dunks!

Mooresville is really good. And with this game being at Mooresville, The Laker Boys can not take even a minute off. I understand the flu bug had two of LN players not dressed out tonight (not starters but top reserves).

Why do you think this game is going to be good? Becauae of Rivalry and its at Mooresville? Last time they played Lake Norman won by almost 30.

Have you looked at GDS roster? I don't think Reidsville can match their size. Also, the defense GDS plays would be like nothing they have seen all season. I would say GDS by 10.
