North Stokes has the #1 seed from Northwest conference. They beat South in the conference tournament after tying for the regulars season conference championship.

South Stokes won both games against North. So they get the #1 seed because of it no matter what happened in the conference tournament. The same happened in the 3A South Piedmont conference. West Rowan and East Rowan tied for first but West won both games during regular season. East won the conference tournament. West got the #1 seed over East because of them beating East twice giving them champs the conference regular season.

Read the NCHSAA rules and regulations….it’s a painful read too….I struggle with it.

You are correct that the conference champion is determined by percentage…but if there is a tie…after REGULAR season…. the head to head trumps it all.

You are looking at rule 4.1.11 (1) you need to look at (2)

First tiebreaker is head to head period. South against North- South 2-0
4.1.11 (2)If two or more teams have equal conference percentages at the end of the season, the team that has the edge in head-to-head competition will get the higher place in the standings. All conference games played against each other would count in the head-to-head competition. The intent is to break the tie by using the tied teams
