I don't think it was anything serious. Looked ok after the game. Probably were just being cautious with him not being needed in the 2nd half.

No, that win was not their last loss. Pisgah won 28-21 on March 5th of the 2020 spring football COVID-19 season.

Mount Airy still has gone as of tonight 40 games without a loss and yes East Surry was the last loss. They won 14 games and the State Championship in 2022 after the ES loss, 16 games, and the State Championship in 2023 which is 30 games and 10 games so far this year with no loss. That is 40 games without a loss.
Another basic math: if none of the top 4 teams in US on the Consecutive Win Streak list lost, Mt Airy continues in fifth (5th) longest win streak in the United States OF America! I can of think that is pretty neat list to be on.

That was one fantastic game over in Ramseur last night.
I almost didn't think it was gonna be. ER went up early and the Tigers body language was terrible. Looked like they were still in the "Trinity funk". However, when John Kirkpatrick hit Chase Farlow with that big bomb, that jumpstarted Orange/Blue and they remembered who they were.
Biggest story of last night was that the Tigers could not stop ER's ground attack. Kobe Walker flat SHOWED OUT. He was super impressive. And he's got two years left....Lucas Smith did his usual Riggo imitation.
Second biggest story was Julian Brooks catching that two-point convo in the near corner to put ER up 27-20. If he's going to start making those plays on the regular, that does not bode well for the opposition.
ER secondary played a little better. Cats had two picks. Aiden Goodman had a very nice game for the Cats on D.
Tigers played a really good game. Chase Farlow had a great one. He caught two TD passes and had a pick. Goldston did his usual thing and Micah Thurston ran the ball hard. Still can't believe that missed extra point. Definitely a "Ray Finkel" moment for sure.
Wildcats are conference champs once again! Great job, gang!

This could be ERs year. There are 5 or 6 teams I think that can win the west. Should be a competitive playoff.
I saw them from the sideline, they don’t make mistakes. They had a pick 6 to win the game as time ran out.
Congrats to ER but remember the west comes through the granite city and if anyone knows Tarboro knows that you will have a long day running the ball on Mount Airy and ER knows that you get maybe 3 seconds to throw then BOOM. We lost a great class but our defense is as good as the last two years. #22 and #21 are beast on edges and number #71 is the imoveable object in the middle. So good luck on that prediction. Everyone thinks Mount Airy is down and we like that just fine but it is playoff time and time to see. Good luck to everyone

I definitely feel a lot more confident about the Cats than I did around the beginning/middle of the season. I think they're putting it together at the right time.
I agree with Thunderstruck in that I think there are five to six teams that can take it. The road still runs through Mount Airy. I like Starmount, Mountain Heritage, and Murphy. And, of course, the Purple People Eaters from Tarboro. Gonna a fun next few weeks.
Yeah how dare somebody pick somebody other than Mount airy to make it out of the West this year. Y'all still are the team to beat though.

Yall had over us what I would say we have over yall this year & that SENIOR LEADERSHIP! “IF” Tarboro is to play Mount Airy this year & that’s a BIG IF! Tarboro wins NO DOUBT. That’s how confident I am about this team. The last two years were kinda of b/c how young they were but I’m highly confident in this team! But again. Eastern Randolph is my pick to come out of the west until otherwise proven wrong🤷🏾♂️

Just being honest. I’ve watched everyone play & Eastern Randolph is top 3 in the west & they’re not two nor 3 imo! They’re also been over looking yall

Well i am glad you are high on your team and they are two years older but don’t forget that the first time we beat you we had a ton of freshman and sophomores and they haven’t went anywhere and only got stronger. You forget how #22 had to come in when dandy broke his foot first series and he won the game for our defense almost single handily and he is just a junior and so much better. So you all think since we lost our dominant class from last year we have stepped back. NOT. Our rising junior class may end up better when said and done. So we look forward to what you have new to show this year cause running the ball isn’t going to work just like last year and that is right your boys know it. If we see your pick fourth round it will be a good game as the last 2 years has been. It actually has been better than championship games. And it isn’t how dare someone pick someone other than mount airy, I made a statement of what it will take to beat the bears and if any team steps up and does that then we will congratulate them. So everyone can get chapped all they want just come on down and take your best shot. Hopefully we will see you in Raleigh again this year probably for final time with realignment coming.
Like I've said many times before til beaten y'all are top dog. But make no mistake it about these Tarboro kids that played on that team in 22 are better than they were then. Good luck in the West. And I hope Tarboro gets another chance at y'all. To be the man you have to beat the man and the last two years MA has been the man. MA is still a very good team and a team that I fully expect will be very difficult to beat weather in the west or in the title game should they make it.
